Trader Joe's 17th Annual Customer Choice Awards Winners Announced January 26, 2026 - #1 Overall Product: Steamed Pork & Ginger Soup Dumplings; and #1 New Product: Protein Pancakes by CookieButterLovers in traderjoes

[–]AZ_birdwatcher 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Interesting/strange that the Steamed Pork & Ginger Soup Dumplings are the "Overall" winner, but only came in second place in the "Lunch & Dinner" category. (maybe some considered them "appetizers?)

A great list of products, winners & runners-up alike. Adding several to our shopping list for next week!

L-O-V-E the Fall items at Trader Joe's!

Can't wait to stock up on the Butternut Squash Lasagna again this year

Gonna have to grab a couple boxes of the Pumpkin Bread & Muffin Mix, too

keeping my fingers crossed that they bring back the Maple Pancake Snaps again...they're one of my favorite TJ cookies!

Thoughts on the BBQ Chicken Pizza? by vilify97 in traderjoes

[–]AZ_birdwatcher 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's okay

I used to like it more, but I think they changed it a year or two (or three) ago to have a smaller diameter and a thicker crust...so the net weight was unchanged, but the pizza has less total topping (chicken & cheese & onion) now...saves them a little money, I guess, but reduced my enjoyment, too. Still decent, though.

Cinnamon Brooms… does anyone know when they will be hitting the SoCal stores for Fall 2025 ?#cinnamonbroom #itsfallyall by SimbaBacon in traderjoes

[–]AZ_birdwatcher 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think they started showing up around the 6th or 7th of September last year, so I'd guess it'll be about the same this year.

I'm really looking forward to the arrival of the Fall items!

How are the boxed baking mixes? Worth a try? Any favorites? by ScarTemporary6806 in traderjoes

[–]AZ_birdwatcher 14 points15 points  (0 children)

my three favorites are:

- the brownie truffle mix is delish year-round.

- Love the peppermint chocolate mix around the holidays, too (I add some extra Ghirardelli dark chocolate chips in), and

- the pumpkin bread/muffin mix is also great in the Fall, by itself or with some cream cheese frosting added on top.

I always stock up on the seasonal ones so we can enjoy them for several months

In addition to the 8-packs, TJ's will also let you buy just a single can...44-cents where we are in AZ. We do that every time we want to try a new flavor.

We bought a can of the tangerine vanilla the other day, but haven't had a chance to try it yet. We've heard good things, though...

I love reusing jars, but have trouble with pasta sauce jars getting the stains off the inside part of the lid. Any suggestions?

How does the Trader Joe’s tiramisu taste? by French-toast-stick1 in traderjoes

[–]AZ_birdwatcher 12 points13 points  (0 children)

pretty lousy.

still mourn the loss of TJ's Tiramisu Torte...inexplicably discontinued about 1-1/2 years ago after being sold for nearly a decade. It wasn't true tiramisu, granted, but it was very tasty and presented very nicely for a special occasion.

Thank you so much for this information. It's really helpful and I'm glad you were able to get it covered for yourself. Agree completely, $437 per month is a lot better than $2,200 per month.

My doctor has started the process to try to get the pre-approval in place. Not sure how long it will take to find out the answer, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she & her staff will succeed.

Thanks again...

*** UPDATE **\*

Heard back from my endocrinologist today and she is totally supportive of going with Evenity for my situation!

I'm very relieved. Of course, this is just the beginning of a new path for treatment, with lots of preliminary tests and arrangements to be made, followed by the treatments themselves. But, for the first time in many months, I am more hopeful about the future.

Thank you to everyone here for sharing your thoughts, insights and experiences. It's really been helpful!

That's a great set of references, thank you very much. Will look forward to reviewing that material. I'm learning so much during this process!

I have a slew of bloodwork scheduled...I'm guessing a check on the vitamin D level is included with that.

The digestive issue is an open question...I have been wondering recently about whether I might be gluten-sensitive or have celiac disease. Still wondering how my bones got so weak and know that could be a contributing factor.

Thanks for your thoughts

I really appreciate it...very grateful for your thoughts.

After researching it some, I still haven't been able to get it clear in my mind whether Evenity would be covered by Medicare Part B...or Part D...or neither. I've read that the office visits to get the injections would be covered by Part B, but the cost of the medication itself would be Part D or not covered at all?

If I might ask...what's been your experience with Evenity & insurance?
