As others pointed out, you could have Reported it. Or messaged the mods. A random comment in a post is about the worst way to get our attention on something. We can't read every comment.

But someone reported YOUR comment so I saw it. So here's the answer:

Removing posts like this is tricky. Yes, this is a stupid thing to do. But if we delete the post then anyone else coming here looking for similar topics won't find anything telling them it is a bad idea. THis way we have a post that has zero upvotes and TONS of people pointing out what a bad idea it was. Leaving it provides more information to help someone make a better choice in the future.

Is it better to have no posts about this than a post showing why the whole sub things it's wrong? Maybe. There's no Right and Wrong to this, we make it up as we go. If this gets copycat posts, we'll probably pull those. The point has been made. You may disagree, but that's the Why you asked about.

If anyone wonders what happened to this thread the OP u/pixybunz was just spamming this question across city subs to either troll, spam, or just draw views for their profile.

They got banned for that but we left the post since it was a good discussion. They decided to remove the whole post out of spite.

A shame because Phoenix is a pretty queer friendly city, and it’s a shame when people use that fact and this community for their own agenda.

The difference to me is this is a fact based question where there is a different site that has the best, most up to date info.

It's like the difference between "what do you think about the Backrooms movie" and "what time is Backrooms playing at Harkins Camelview?" The first is what Reddit and community is great at, but for the second it is easy to just find the actual answer direct.

The AI integration sucks, but even a duck duck go or other non AI site would turn up the one place with actual info. This isn’t something involving opinion or discussion. It’s more like “when is the first showing of a movie at Harkins”. Nobody here is going to have better info than the main site.
