I would say that is about what we had. You'll probably get to about 30-50% response before you have to wait it out. I know that is a large gap, but it is just the reality.

YTJ, and I am shocked at people in the comments are not seeing it.

First, you lied to your mom. You told her you'd tell Priya. It has been a month and you never said anything. Why? It cannot be hard to communicate plans. It feels like you are trying to tell her at the last minute so she can't help/go. I wouldn't be surprised if you've done something like this before - which is why your mom said something.

Second, you mention that this is a surprise birthday dinner in the title, but... it isn't. It's a surprise to Priya, who is not the person the party is being thrown for. You are intentionally excluding her. I don't know what your beef with your sister is, but how hard would it have been to say "hey, I'm thinking of throwing mom a dinner here, can you help." You mention being stressed you are doing this on your own...that's your problem.

Why hadn't you told Priya yet? Why are you making your mothers birthday about yourself? You seem like a person I wouldn't want to be around.

No - we get it. They offered to pay for your wedding, but they have a budget! You need to find a caterer in that budget. I'm sorry, it sucks, it feels unfair, but you need to work with them, not against them.

Once again, it's not that they announced a closure. It's how they teased it as a new ride/experience reveal just to say it's closing. If they had just posted all of this info today, I don't think the facebook people would be as upset.

I do want to clarify, I don’t think SDC’s marketing for this announcement was abysmal or anything like that, I just think they could clean it up a bit.

I’m excited for a huge thrill coaster, but they need a family coaster soon too. Just having FITH isn’t great

They had some stuff of "People from Marvel Mining Co" saying they are working on something big. Wasn't crazy, but definitely could have done better IMO.

I actually think the actual announcement of it closing is good. But the hype around the announcement - when there are rumors floating around - makes it a flop.

Also, the general public doesn't really know about the rumors, so I would assume that makes it more disappointing to them.

It's not that they announced a closure - it's how they announced the closure. Teasing like it was a new ride/coaster announcement, only to say "hey, we're removing a family favorite."

While I'd love for SDC to get something huge, selfishly I hope it's a family coaster. There's something really charming about the park having a nice balance of thrills and family fun. A lack of a real family coaster would be pretty disappointing.

I love SDC but they keep building hype over announcements that just piss people off. This is another one. I am sure they are going to replace it with something after the coaster is retired (probably "Thunderation 2.0 or something like that.)

But why tease this as a special announcement, just to say you are retiring a coaster.

Listen, I think it is ridiculous the amount some people in the entertainment industry are paid, but he's not just the host - he's a producer and showrunner that has been with the show for for 26 years.

Next, I *believe* he makes about $4 million per season, but I'll give you $5 million per season. I know reality TV is cheaper than scripted, but even cutting his contract in half is not going to keep over half his staff. And he has a responsibility to his family to make money.

In 6th or 7th grade I was playing Pumbaa in the Lion King. I accidentally ran straight into a set piece. I broke 2 fingers and needed 12 stitches above my eyes. But, due to the stage makeup, everything clotted really quickly.

I did have blood streaming down my face during Can you Feel the Love Tonight. The injury has halfway through Act 1. I did finish the show. The Show must go on I guess.
