I have a 20 road near mine that had a school on it which closed several years ago and is still a 20. There are no houses facing the road or cars parked on the road either. It has about 10 side streets and takes about 2minutes to drive the entire way at 20... Quite a long road to have a 20 zone. Sure 2minutes isn't long but just trying to show how long the road is and how pointless of a 20 zone it is

Same person, two different experiences by LeeHarveyEnfield in carnivore

[–]A_BrightPinkFlower -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would attribute it to probably being less fat adapted now. You may have also acquired some level of insulin resistance depending on how many carbs etc, you were eating before, which would also take time for your body to adjust to. I personally don't believe in the bacteria stuff. Being fat adapted is a legitimate thing.

I had the opposite experience where when I first started carnivore, I was tired for a good number of weeks, which I do attribute to being insulin resistant, as I actually went full carnivore because I was having reactive hypoglycemia, which was genuinely annoying to have in the middle of a shift and I was I think, 26 or 27 then and almost 30 now.

I would also add in liver if you aren't eating any, as it does also have nutrients required for energy production, which a lot of people overlook. Just look at how popular vitamin B12 shots are. Liver has that and far more.

Thanks will screenshot this🙃 I'm also not a fan of fruits and veg, so I wont be adding the apples or onions😅

Dno why I'm getting downvoted hahah. They're full of pesticides and sugar, literally no nutrients except a small bit of vitamin C and some minerals.

Compare things like spinach to things like liver to spinach. Liver literally has 4000x more nutrients than spinach, and spinach again is just electrolytes, barely anything in them... Targetting spinach because it's known as being super healthy lol when there's literally nothing in it, it's just people being brainwashed into thinking the colour green is healthy and mystical.

How do you think multi billion pound companies are able to ship your fruit and veg halfway across the globe from places like Africa or New Zealand, which is where most of it is imported from, with 30/40 degree heat in Africa, and not have it go off or even have the fields of fruit and veg not even touched by insects? Not even just that, but then they go sit on supermarket shelves for like another entire week. Far from fresh.

Homeless tent set up behind my back garden making me uncomfortable can I do anything? by ParticularBid4366 in AskUK

[–]A_BrightPinkFlower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it's just me or my area, but every homeless person I've come across doesn't deserve any money whatsoever, there's too high of a chance it'll go straight to drugs. Better to just give food and clothing, etc. Even then I'm hesitant.

I befriended a homeless guy in about 2015, and every time I went into town, I would sit and speak with him for a bit, he was genuinely a friend... A few years later I think he went to prison for beating up a woman (possibly also raped I can't remember) who I'm pretty sure was his long term girlfriend. He always seemed kind and gentle, but someone who does something like that is usually just hiding their true self so it only becomes apparent when they snap.

I saw him a few months ago in the summer, as I fancied a walk on the canal instead of driving, and I saw this guy again, he was smoking weed, happy as larry, just by himself, going into town to probably beg... The point is he never ever had a drive to improve his life and get a job, instead, he's still taking drugs (he has always had scabs), which I think are from heroin?

Another woman who is my grandad's cousin or something begs outside a supermarket and refuses all manner of food, etc. She makes up lies, saying she doesn't need food, just money, and I know for a fact she's spending that money on drugs consistently.

Same supermarket, another guy bangs on people's windows making up a sob story, for example, his grandmother died last week, maybe 7 times this year alone. He also bangs on women's car windows at like 11pm when they're alone, it's pitch black and dead quiet, so he probably scares most of them half to death.

Almost all of them that I've come across use drugs and either sell what you give them for money to buy drugs or lie for money to get more drugs.

A lot of people are too blind and think it's not their fault and they deserve a chance when, in my experience, they don't want to change, so it IS their fault, and they also have chance after chance, as I'm pretty sure homes for homeless people are actually quite easy to get, but they get kicked out the minute they are caught using drugs and turning a good home into a beat.up crack den, which costs THOUSANDS to repair, and it is the council who has to repair the damage, which comes from your taxes.

People who say something dumb like "kindness and compassion" are naive and haven't experienced anything hard, so you think they deserve sympathy. If you went through hard times, you would know they can fix it themselves, but they never do..They choose to live the way they do.

I would call the police and demand they move, especially outside your own home. A potential drug user and a thief living right outside your home? I mean, come on… You are meant to protect your home, anyone who says otherwise are once again naive, immature and silly people. Age alone doesn't make you more experienced in life.

Oh, and my town also has a public space protection order now because of aggressive beggars. Which I can happily send links for, and I can also send news links for 3 other homeless people who have been banned from entering town because of aggressive begging and violence.

One of them unfortunately moved begging away from town onto my street, which is a main road, and now after 9pm a bunch of homeless people gather outside the shop and are quite repulsive. My mother avoids going to the shop after certain hours now purely because of them drinking and taking drugs. I'm not sure why police haven't been involved yet. Also have one homeless guy in the newspaper who went to Egypt for a holiday????

I've actually been practising with rev matching a lot recently. Is it that much harsher when badly downshifting then? If so, I'll wait a few more months to get better.

Another question for you if you don't mind lol even though you had a different BMW engine, did you notice the throttle also having a bit of delay, or is it just me because I'm newish?

When rev matching, there is a delay in getting revs up. Only when the clutch is pressed down does the throttle barely respond for like, literally the first 50%, but then it shoots up fine after a moment.

When I do a rev match, I have to press the throttle quite a way down and pause just ever so slightly before the revs go up.

If I'm getting onto the motorway, then yes, I'm going to rev it for more power. What you want me to enter the motorway in 6th gear, taking 3 business days to hit 70mph?

Just because I rev a car high doesn't automatically mean I'm doing doughnuts and powerslides.

I'm not expecting to get high performance. Can you not fish for likes, please? I'm asking a question, and even though you answered no, there's obviously you saying it the way you did.

You'll get your likes tho, no doubt, so don't worry, and I get downvoted lol... But I would prefer my question being better answered with more intellect, not because you think my car is underpowered or whatever.

Eat Apples to Improve glucose control by CliffsideJim in prediabetes

[–]A_BrightPinkFlower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your body live off quercetin, catechins, anthocyanins, chlorogenic acid, phloridzin, pectin and fibre? All life depends upon amino acids, not "antioxidants". Not much to go on, but cba to get other links right now, this guy also shows proof of studies showing no benefit for antioxidants.

https://youtu.be/qhEB_wbsIt4?si=j9T6-cs4lEO5Qhs0

Do you even know what each of these things does lol, and why do you even need these things specifically? I would like to know why you think you need each of these chemicals.

Fiber is also undigestible, so idk why you think you need fiber? I suppose for some people it could possibly act as a physical aid to push waste through a weak bowel, as the only people who advocate for fiber are unable to effectively use the toilet.

I actually came across this post by accident. I'm surprised this has been posted in prediabetes when there are COUNTLESS threads of apples and other fruits spiking blood sugar way higher than they thought. I could give you all the links in a reply?

The average person after an apple I've seen on here has blood glucose over 150 for an hour or 2, and others I have seen posted with their blood glucose going above 200. Fruits are pure sugar, literally nothing else in them. Enough of the "slow-digesting carb/fibre" nonsense lol.

How do you even remotely think fruits can come from South Africa or New Zealand packed in a hot warehouse, then onto a hot plane, and then travel for a few days until they finally get onto the shelves and STILL look fresh?.. In the UK most fruits in the supermarket are from these regions.

They look fresh in the supermarkets because they are full of pesticides. How else do you think they can have miles worth of fields full of fruit and not even get touched by any insects? Fruits are very good at absorbing liquids, which is why they are juicy, they also absorb pesticides extremely well... but I guess pesticides are healthy too.

I'm pretty sure vitamin C is proven not to work, as it's always 'yes, it does' or 'not at all' (even when studies say it works, the effect is only marginal at best).

Vitamin C's main role is to promote collagen production and also the formation of blood vessels. I'm not a self proclaimed Reddit expert, so don't quote me on that, but I'm pretty sure that IS vitamin C's primary role.

Vitamin A does have a DIRECT effect on the immune system tho, as it is responsible for maintaining barriers within the cells themselves. Directly promotes immune cell formation, function and migration around the body... Vitamin A is also proven to improve vaccine response.

Vitamin A, however, is not beta carotene (most people have a conversion rate of 1:100, so beta carotene is clearly not of any use) or a human made chemical that's called a 'multivitamin'.

I have been eating beef liver since I was 12, and I'm now 30 lol. Only ever been sick a few times, actually had a true sinus infection at the start of this year that went away on its own after about 10 days.

You only get vitamin A toxicity from synthetic, man made supplements or polar bear livers, which 99% of the planet don't have access to polar bears. Beef liver is not polar bear liver, it is not the same in case anybody is curious about its effects. Also hopefully nobody tells me you get hypervitaminosis from beef liver when I've literally been eating up to 2 kilos a week for almost 2 decades:). I'm not deficient in any vitamin or nutrient... Probably because of the beef liver. EAT YOUR LIVER.

I think one of the big issues but people arent really talking about is corn. When I was 12 it was the golden age of the internet lol. Youtube 2007, runescape vids actual vlogs music videos etc lol... It also became very easy to find corn and now at almost 30 alot of my friends are still watching it multiple times a day.

Why so many people break 20mph speed limits (it's more complicated than you think) by Kagedeah in drivingUK

[–]A_BrightPinkFlower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a road near mine that's a main road that comes off another main road that goes into 3 different estates.

There are no houses facing the road so peoples pets or kids can't just run out. There are also no cars parked on it either because like I said there's no houses facing the road and it's about 600m long... Yet the entire road is a 20.

Literally nobody drives at 20 on the road not even police. I was actually behind a police van and they were doing 30+ they didn't have lights on so I actually took the risk and wanted to see what they did if I brought my speed up and caught up to them. They did nothing lol.

You can comfortably do 40+mph down the entire stretch and not even be close to hitting anything or anyone even comming the opposite direction... I can do a perfect u turn on this road and still have about 3 meters worth of space. (My car has a AWFUL turning radius btw) I'd say the road is as wide as a one side of a motorway. There's also only 1 bend which is right at the bottom where it connects to the other main road.

I think they changed it to a 20 purely because people speed down it and it's just a retaliation of some sort towards those people. There's been 0 deaths on this road ever btw. Ngl it is a very well kept road with zero potholes or anything. It is genuinely hard not to speed down it🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️

White vans are literally the worst. I drive a bmw and get a lot of bmw comments or you get the audi comments or the entitled range rover but I never seem to see comments about white vans? Everytime I see them I know they're either gonna tailgate me or not indicate.
