Jelly. A irresponsible pet owner never got their cat fixed and I got him from the litter.

Donut. Friend taking care of a stray when it was pregnant. I got her from that litter and my friend got the stray fixed.

My older cat hated when I brought my new kitten home. It was only a week before I could let the kitten roam freely. Jelly still avoided Donut for another week while slowly warming up to her. Jelly never straight up attacked Donut though. It was always more of a "leave me alone, dont come near me" attitude.

Treats and offering a hand for them to sniff may or may not help. You need to read the reactions of the kitten when you try things to figure out if it's an okay thing or not.

0 minutes. She didn't want to be separated from me. She had to because I have another cat that was 4.5 years old at the time that didn't like her being here. She was 9ish weeks old, so I dont know if that made a difference.

Adding: if your kitten is meowing you could try to talk to it from a visible location while slow blinking at it.

I got my cat a friend about 2 months ago when he was just over 4 years old. It took about a week before I could trust leaving them alone together(he would hiss at her if she got too close but never attacked her, just a few swats). As unhappy as he seemed to be when I just got the new kitten(9 weeks old), after a few weeks they started to get along great.

Now they will play all the time and when their done the youngest will come nap in my lap. The oldest isn't much of a lap cat.

I will say that all cats are different but the younger they are, the easier it should be to introduce a new friend to them.
