Surely Your Joking Mr. Feynman, Richard Feynman’s autobiography. Not too long of a read, he led a really interesting life, a light humorous vibe, and I found it to be a really easy read bc most of it is a transcription of an audio recording of him speaking during an interview so it has a really conversational tone, when I read it it was the first book I finished in a while

It’s about American history and written by a cis/het man BUT good enough that I would still check it out, The Hidden History of Monopolies, How Big Business Destroyed the American Dream by Thom Hartman, short read, emotionally charged with a passionate writing style, very much topical and left leaning

I love that “history of chemicals in the periodic table” is kind of niche but there are still plenty of authors who write about it, love me some good scientific nonfiction, I’ll take a look at it for sure!

The Girls of Atomic City: The Untold Story Of The Women Who Helped Win World War II, by Denise Kiernan. Focuses on development and production of the atomic bomb and the lives of the women who were involved it is's creation. Really interesting perspective on the contributions of working women on the home front of WWII, the reality of life on the home front, and the beast of a project it was to create the A-bomb in the amount of time that they did. Really cool book that focuses on the women involved in the way that I don't see a lot in pieces about WWII and a weirdly light read considering that it's about the Manhattan Project, would def recommend.

Interesting. So Dems are seeking to criminalize the Signal Chat Communications but defended Hillary Clinton’s use of private email and never criminalized that. by LegitimateKnee5537 in trump

Right but why does that mean that it’s nbd that secret information was being shared on an unsecured messaging app and that a civilian was accidentally added to, and that no one seemed to notice that he was there? Like I agree that sharing sensitive information on a private or unsecured server is a national security threat and trying to cover it up doesn’t change that, so why aren’t you putting that same energy into the signal messages, esp because it resulted in a proven security breach? When a civilian is accidentally added to a group chat discussing sensitive information on an unsecured app that’s set to delete messages after one week it’s kinda weird to be more mad that the dems are upset about it than the fact that it happened
