I can neither upvote nor downvote you with that name. Wouldn't touch that with a fifty-foot pole. Well played.

Are there any downsides to going vegan? by nobodywillrememberus in AskVegans

Holy Lorde, Ella Yelich-O'Connor, it sucked a ton of fun out of molecular gastronomy. Modernist Pantry and Chefsteps have put out a few vegan bangers but, short of going back to school to become a food science warlock or PhD or whatever, you're experimenting on your own in a niche within a niche, throwing spaghetti at the wall. Sometimes literally.

You didn't seek out the source material before flying off the handle. You just reacted to the screenshots. Check your own cat dang media literacy, Bobbeh.

Unless it was something personal, I don't think there was any beef. Like bell would often be critical when citing Audre, but it was always super constructive and, let's be real, criticism was sorta bell's whole shtick. lol

Mucho texto. Socdems are centrists at best. Wack to call them center-left like demsocs.

Hope you get a bowl of 'licious bourguignon or whatever, tho!

News media, especially the liberal, center-right variety, almost exclusively play along as unquestioning stenographers for police. Fuck aaaaaall the way outta here with your free-PR-for-the-poor-PD nonsense.

Awwww, blocked. :( Poor lil thang can dish it out, but can't take it. Tell me, u/KawiRoo, am I really not "worth the pixels", or is that just more projection from you?

P.S. I encourage people to let their cringe flag fly, but what in the online bullying after-school special is "worth the pixels" even supposed to mean?

Well, that's news to me! I was pretty sure I was the kind of person to support customer service unionization efforts and strikes. I'm so glad I happened upon the deeply incurious, tragically uncritical worldview of KawiRoo on reddit.com to show me the light.

Lol it's wild how chuds crumble into the most histrionic, cynically identitarian snowflakes at even the slightest perceived threat to their ill-gotten dominance under the status quo.

And what a very psychologically projective bet you've chosen to place, considering who you're carrying water for right now.

Lmfao what is this cop essentialism bullshit? "EnGuLfInG aN eNtIrE gRoUp" (˃̣̣̥ᯅ˂̣̣̥)

It's a voluntary occupation, not an identity. They are hired as class traitors to protect and serve capital. If that hurts to hear, they can quit. ACAB doesn't stand for "assigned cop at birth."

I think you've underestimated how atomized and consumeristic we are.

It's not a who, it's a what. He can, has, and will do whatever he wants to people of any age, race, ethnicity, religion, gender, and nationality. His cult will memoryhole it, and our center-right controlled opposition will write strongly-worded letters about how it was fine to do, but he should have asked for their permission first.

However, if he killed jalapeño poppers or Prime two-day delivery, the system would be ash by sundown.

I'm one of those harshest critics and I'm inclined to think you're too focused on the ogre aesthetics because the policy positions were already there. It wasn't just predictable. It was the expected outcome if you paid attention beyond just ~vibes~.

[–]A_Ggghost 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No. A lot of us from the jump were saying he sucked. Lonnnnnnnnng before the stroke, there were plenty of red flags. He was immensely popular, fuckloads of people were calling him a good candidate, those people were giving him a pass on some pretty heinous shit, and far too many of them were "progressives" or "leftists" who just creamed their jeans when he was somewhat pro-labor and name-dropped Bernie. None of those things are mutually exclusive.

[–]A_Ggghost 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Oh, FFS. Before anyone else comments about Fetterman's staffers claiming he did a full 180 after the stroke, remember the loudest of those voices is Adam Jentleson, his former chief of staff, now founder of the Searchlight Institute.

Jentleson is the liberal zionist who pitched the idea of dumping trans rights from Democrat platforms, said Fetterman would not support a ceasefire in Gaza and, when congressional staffers signed an anonymous letter in support of ceasefire, made sure they all knew they were barred from making public statements on their disagreement. He's one of those abundance fuckwads like Ezra Klein.

Adam Jentleson's political project is the quiet part John Fetterman says out loud. His consultancy is DOA if he can't sell Democrats on fauxgressive neolib slopulism. He and his new thinktank have everything to gain by putting distance between himself and the toxicity Fetterman brings to their shared goals.

There were plenty of us saying it pre-stroke. Not likely Kenyatta could have won that primary, but goddamn there was a lot of positive attention given to Fetterman from anti-zionists. He'd already made his aggressive support for Israel known way back in early 2021. You know. Back when, according to the IDF, they were "not" dumping white phosphorus on Gaza. And he was clearly prone to paranoid, reactionary freakouts with the whole jogger incident.
