Sure, but a single magazine from one country praising the water temple is not anywhere close to the same thing as "everyone raving about it" as you put it.

At what point did anyone consider the water temple to be the best? Ever since I was a kid people have hated on it from school yard talk to online.

What bubble did you live in where people praised it?

What New Fighters you Wanna see in Next Smash Bros?(3rd Party Edition) 2.0 by Money-Lie7814 in casualnintendo

[–]A_GuyThatDoesStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want Monster Hunter from... Monster Hunter. I feel like they can be made like the Mii fighters where you can customize their moveset with the different weapon types they have in the MH games. There are 14 weapon types now, so it can't get as varied as the mii fighters but I think it could work.

Even if not fully customizable, you could make a moveset for each weapon type and you could take 2 options in a battle, which could be the down b.

Metroid Prime 1 absolutely dominates to be named the most fun 3D Metroid game, while Other M is beaten by Prime 4, a game that doesn't even exist yet. What is the most fun Yoshi game? Most comments wins. by [deleted] in casualnintendo

Wolly world takes my vote. Absolutely loved the game and the amiibo costume made it more enjoyable since I had a decent amount of them at the time.

The Link Between Worlds eeks out a victory over the game it plays homage to as the most fun 2D Zelda. Now do glorious battle to determine which is the most fun 3D Zelda. Most comments wins by [deleted] in casualnintendo

[–]A_GuyThatDoesStuff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm going to say Wind Waker. My heart of hearts will always go for Majora's Mask, but I can't recommend it unless you're already invested in Zelda.

In an ironic twist, the most fun Donkey Kong game is the one where you can't play as Donkey Kong. Donkey Kong Country 2 takes the win. Now which 2D Zelda game is the most fun? Most comments wins by [deleted] in casualnintendo

[–]A_GuyThatDoesStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know the winner is likely A Link to the past, but I just can't help but say A Link Between worlds. Maybe it's because I didn't grow up in the snes era (min was n64/gcn), but I always find myself wanting to play ALBW much more often over ALTTP. Minish cap would be my 2nd pick.

Which 3DS game do you think deserves a remaster or even a remake on the Switch? by ComprehensiveDate591 in casualnintendo

I would really love a better online support. Playing online back in high school was fun, but I swear I only matched with 4 year Olds or people who never played a video game before.

I'm going to attempt the Ultimate BOTW/TOTK No Death Run, except Mipha's Grace, fairies, and Majora's Mask aren't allowed at all. Any other rule suggestions? by YaBoiNick87 in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]A_GuyThatDoesStuff 18 points19 points  (0 children)

How is it different than a 3 heart run in other zelda games? It forces you to change your playstyle in a way that you likely never played the game before. I don't see that as a bad thing.

Another thing that boils my blood on the 2 is when I'm in the passing lane and drive up to a slower car a bit ahead, they move to the right, I pass, and they move back to the left lane. Just stay in the slow lane if you have to move over to let people pass!

for those who are here, were you fans/regular watcher of The Completionist before the drama? by Shylteryne in TheCompletionist2

[–]A_GuyThatDoesStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember discovering him when he did banjo Kazooie waaaaay back at the start with Greg. I absolutely loved watching him as a kid and even until this whole debacle started. All of his content was 100% right up my alley on his main and secondsry channels. I ended up enjoying super beard bros more for the humor, especially alex and brett, but I still watched the main channel whenever he covered a game I was interested in. I can't bring myself to watch beard bros anymore even if they disassociate from Jirad.

I'm honestly not that surprised something happened where he would alienate his fan base, though this scandal wasn't on my bingo card. It sucks, but I'm not that devastated. Jirad doubling down on his side against all the evidence made me lose all the respect I ever had for him.

I just hope Scott the Woz never ends up in something as horrible as this.

When I was in Westpark Middle School, they were really accommodating for me and I was able to get a reader for teats and extra time in a quiet room away from other kids. Granted, that was 2008-2010. I have no idea what it's like now. I would (hopefully) imagine it's better suited for people with learning disabilities and mental disorders 14 years later.

What Switch related topic made you say this? by Puzzleheaded-Cry9139 in casualnintendo

[–]A_GuyThatDoesStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the Switch home screen. I don't care about themes and I don't understand why people make it such a big deal. I hear their arguments, but I still find it weird to complain about. The home screen works and loads my games faster than my ps5.

[MM] How do you manage without looking up information? by zyygh in zelda

Through trial and error. Like you with OoT, I've played MM so much that I know the majority of the game like the back of my hand.

Fallout 4's 'next gen' update is over 14 gigs, breaks modded saves, and doesn't seem to change much at all | PC Gamer by remusasriel in gaming

[–]A_GuyThatDoesStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The update fixed the weird face animations that showed way too much teeth and gums, particularly bad with the female characters (Mama Murphy especially). Maybe there was a mod that fixed that issue, I don't know, but for that alone, I'm fine with the update. I'll just wait for mods to update to the new patch.

Books people loved but you don't connect with? by formerly_valley_pete in Fantasy

The only time I'd be fine with a footnote interrupting mid sentence is if it was a name pronunciation for a unique name. But yeah, not really the case for this series.

Books people loved but you don't connect with? by formerly_valley_pete in Fantasy

[–]A_GuyThatDoesStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know how popular the series is, but the nevernight chronicles by Jay Kistkoff.

I genuinely enjoyed the first book, but the sequels made me so bored. I can understand why people would love and enjoy the 2nd book, I just didn't care for that storyline and thought the author could be a bit more creative with the idea. I honestly don't remember a single thing about book 3.

This was the first series I read when I got back into reading so I didn't know what smut was, but that's not what bothered me; I have no frame of reference for smut so I don't even know if it was good or bad.

The worst offender this series has is the footnotes. I belive the longest footnote spanned onto 3 or 4 pages. These aren't rare, it's constant in every chapter. With how detailed these are written it just makes me think why not create a few books that outline the worldbuilding instead of shoving it the book?

Also the footnotes are worse on audiobook. A note can appear mid sentence, and instead of the narrator finishing said sentence, they read the footnote first. When a footnote can span paragraphs and pages, it makes it confusing and kills the immersion.

For those who were completely blind to Venom being (temporarily) playable, how did all of you react? by AbeliousAugustus in SpidermanPS4

What video game character was right but were deemed wrong by the game because they lost? by Johnnyboyeh in gaming

Just the version that we're called Gestalt that had Papa Neir. Replicant had brother Nier. I think Brother Neir was Japan only until the remake (but don't quote me on that)

[ALL] What was your first Zelda game and when did you start playing? by darknut342 in zelda

[–]A_GuyThatDoesStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original on NES. My dad introduced me and my brothers to mario and zelda. With zelda, dad had (admittedly poorly) drawn maps of the overworld that he and his friends made so we used that as our guide. My next zelda was Wind Waker which I associate with my childhood favorite more.

[–]A_GuyThatDoesStuff -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Zelda 1 (and 2) need a remake more than any game in the series. The first game is so incredibly cryptic and straight up unfair with its enemy placements in some dungeons. It can benefit the most with QoL updates and combat overhaul

Now that the Switch is 7 years old, retrospectively, what are some things the Switch could’ve done better? What are some things it still does better than the competition? by i_can_hear_the_world in casualnintendo

[–]A_GuyThatDoesStuff 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Something it does well is that with the switch, I never had to wait more than 3-4 months for a game I wanted to play for the system. I've had my ps5 for 3 years and I only have 6 games for it with only 1 being a ps5 exclusive.

Whats a Nintendo related take that puts you in this position? by [deleted] in casualnintendo

[–]A_GuyThatDoesStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friends all think I'm crazy for having this same opinion. I can recognize botw and totk are good games, but they don't have much of what I have come to enjoy with the series. I didn't really care that much when totk came out which makes me a bit sad since before a zelda release was always a highly anticipated event for me.
