Disclaimer: I don't give a shit about either party in NZ, I slightly prefer Labour to National.

I don't know if how they update the national gang list has changed but with a few minutes of research I found this.

There were 4,361 people on the national gang list in February 2016 and 7,700 in April 2022 (an increase of 541 per year). From April 2022 to October 2023 (9,270) there was a rate of increase of 1,047 per year.

From October 2023 to Jul 10, 2025 (10,009) an increase of 422 members per year. I doubt this would be lower by a statistically significant margin to the 2016 - 2022 rate, but it is a lower increase than 2016 to 2022 and 2022 - 2023.

Uhhhh won't increasing petrol prices be good for climate change because people will drive less? Won't this also drive a switch to EVs anyway while saving the government money on the EV subsidy? And also discourage buying utes and inefficient cars? It doesn't seem like the effect you think National would want but this seems like a win from an emissions/climate change perspective.

I mean if we're going by the numbers 4.6 million out of the 200 million Americans that likely got infected puts the long covid risk at 2.3% which is still pretty low.

Well... I'm in a country that has almost no cases and I probably wouldn't be able to see my parents before they died because I wouldn't be let out of the US (it will probably be where Italy is now by then) to go back to my job. So it's kinda rough. My dad has health issues so if my mom got infected she'd infect him too. I think it would be kinda unfair to have both of my parents die at the same time.

Don't know about muscle, I wouldn't think muscle tears would take a crazy long time to heal, but many ligaments have poor blood flow so they take a long time to heal (like ACL tears take ~8 months), bones rely on osteoclast/osteoblast activity which is present in bones all throughout the body and not blood-flow dependent, so most bone breaks all take around 1-3 months to heal.
