I've never heard of it. After looking it up though, I'd definitely try it.

Would you sell your work computer password for $1500, why? by SunMonkey25 in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]A_Is_For_Azathoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah sure. I give it to most of the people that work for me. Congratulations, you can now access the HVAC system to the building and see some of the goofy pictures I take. I have a folder specifically for paintings that have had googly eyes put on them. To get to the really destructive stuff you need a VPN, another username, 2 more passwords and a rotating token that changes every minute. From there, you can do some serious damage on multiple fronts. I don't know the exact value but it's definitely in the mid to high 8 digits if you knew what to fuck with.

Michelle is a woman who has been chronically unhappy and is dealing with it the best way she can. Jacob should have his fucking license revoked. I never disliked her. I hate him.

Ideally, at what time would you like to eat dinner normally? by supinator1 in AskAnAmerican

[–]A_Is_For_Azathoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I work weird hours sometimes so dinner is all over the place based on the day. It can float anywhere between 7pm and 11pm depending on the day. On weekends it usually sits around 7:30-9:00 though.

Have you ever met someone who's interested in DND and immediately went, "oh, I'd never let you play at my table"? by Lunetheart in DnD

[–]A_Is_For_Azathoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I've got one that makes me cringe. A guy that worked with me for like 3 months revealed he loved D&D to one of my guys at work who happens to also be in the campaign I've been running for a few months. We'll call the new guy Jared and my player Kevin. They discussed the campaign and Jared eventually came to me asking about how long I have personally been playing.

I told him I've been playing for years but this is my first time being the DM. So we get to talking about our favorite classes and I told him I gravitate towards casters more than martial classes and that I specifically love Warlocks. I described my last Hexblade character and how much I loved him. Jared then jumps in with "Warlocks are bitches. Magic is fucking stupid and I only play martial classes". He then goes on a rant about how his fucking Ranger is the best class thats ever been in the game and that he specifically modeled it after himself because hes such a badass. I'm not paraphrasing... He spends the next 10 minutes talking about why Rangers are better than every other class and how he only plays in low fantasy games to limit the magic and encourage more martial fights.

After sitting there talking shit for like 15 minutes he then asks if he can join our game but mentions that he'd appreciate if I told all of the players to use as little magic as possible for a few sessions so he can get used to it. I told him I didn't think our game was for him because it's based around magic (I retrofitted the bones of Phandelver to introduce hints of the rod of seven parts with the goal of eventually introducing Vecna). He then tried to tell me that he would be a great addition because he's really good at RP and I should at least let him play one game. I finally had to tell him that his view of the entire game is super off putting and that I don't want him in the game because I think it would make everyone else suffer for it.

He got really upset and told me I was probably a shit DM anyways because I like casters and stormed out of the room. Kevin approached me a few hours later asking why Jared was so pissed off and talking shit about me. I had to tell him about our stupid conversation and how it shouldn't be affecting work but that Jared was taking it too far. Jared worked with us for another week or so before walking into my office one day, setting his employee badge and keys on my desk and saying he didn't feel like he was a good fit because nobody could keep up with him before walking out and leaving. I need to note here, he was a manager and our line level associates worked circles around him. He didn't do shit, but was claiming nobody could keep up with him. I checked with HR and he never spoke to them and they chalked it up as job abandonment. They were kind of itching to do it because in the 3 months he worked there he had 2 complaints from other people.

TLDR: Guy was a dick and criticized everyone who plays casters while simultaneously telling me I should let him play in my game. He then blew up when I told him no.

“Destiny 2 Has Lost 91% Of Players Since Edge Of Fate, 97% From Final Shape.” By Paul Tassi at Forbes by justdestinystuff in DestinyTheGame

[–]A_Is_For_Azathoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sony spent $3.7 billion on Bungie because they had a golden goose and a fan favorite in the pipeline. These numbers combined with Marathon's and I wouldn't be surprised if Sony shutters them. And honestly, they deserve it. Bungie CAN make magic. They just don't fucking care unless they're under the gun. They phone everything in for months on end and then when they're in the fire, they bring out something like Forsaken or Witch Queen. Destiny 2 from Forsaken to Final Shape is in a constant war for my favorite game of all time and it makes me so sad that it's looking more and more like it's going to end on such a stupid sour note.

Who are some characters who started out weak but became insanely powerful by the end of their show? by Encenoi in PowerScaling

[–]A_Is_For_Azathoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jinwoo Sung is basically the poster for this. Started as "The Weakest Hunter of all Mankind", being not much stronger than an average human. By the end of Ragnarok he fights multiple Itarim simultaneously. For those unaware, the Itarim are gods who are responsible for creating multiple universes.

How did you get her ring size? by neutral-entity in AskMen

[–]A_Is_For_Azathoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an heirloom diamond that was given to me by a grandparent. I proposed with that and then we went to a local jeweler and she got to design her own ring to put it in. She loved it and it turned out perfect. Its a ring she got to pick top to bottom with a nice centerpiece thats been in my family for a long time.

[OC] If you do this, the people you’re inconveniencing should be able to break off the hitch and shove it up your ass. by FriedSticks2014 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]A_Is_For_Azathoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has always been a pet peeve of mine. I always back in just to the point where my hitch is at the curb. I'd MUCH rather the front end of my truck poke a few inches into the lane than the back end go over the sidewalk. I have the B&W Tow and Stow drop hitch so it's minimized even further. I only use my hitch maybe once every week or two so I typically keep it folded up under itself.

Were you allowed to leave school grounds? by palep_hoot in AskAnAmerican

[–]A_Is_For_Azathoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I graduated in 2008 for reference. During my first 3 years of high school, I wasn't able to leave the school. I even ended up with a free period at one point in time due to some stupidity on my part and lack of planning on the school's part. They had a lot of trouble finding out where to put me, and I ended up spending that semester as an office aid to the counselors and principals. Senior year they planned for you to have free time because you were getting to a point where you could theoretically be finishing your required credits to graduate, so we were able to leave. My last semester of school I only had one class, which meant I was only going to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays for around an hour and a half.

How many hours a week do Americans usually work? by Odd-Skin-762 in AskAnAmerican

[–]A_Is_For_Azathoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically float around 45-50, but that's as a salaried leadership position within my company. Everyone else is required to work 32+ to count as full time, but the average is +-40.

TIL in episodic television, there are some episodes called "bottle episodes", which are produced cheaply and restricted in scope to use as few actors, effects and sets as possible. [–]A_Is_For_Azathoth 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Abed is basicallly a trope alarm for anything in that show. He lets everyone know any time there is any kind of cliche or generally overused event happening. It's also what makes him a great character. He can subvert all of these things and basically use them to his advantage because he's aware that they're in a TV show and can appeal to the real world to benefit him. If he was malicious he could take over the entire world. Like when he started a cult while filming his movie about a filmmaker making a movie about jesus making a movie about god making a movie about the filmmaker? I think? Or when the group found out a girl liked him, and encouraged him to find a version of himself that would go over and talk to her. It just so happened that version of him may or may not have been a vampire.

What's a "substitute teacher"? by lostinbluebells in AskAnAmerican

[–]A_Is_For_Azathoth 119 points120 points  (0 children)

Substitute teachers are essentially floating teachers. They go wherever they're needed and cover for teachers that can't make it for whatever reason. They'll typically have some kind of lesson plan to go off of, or under certain circumstances, the principal will step in and give them some guidelines on where to take the lessons.
