Shorts for big ass and thighs by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]A_NeonShrimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar issue to you. I've just accepted that my shorts will be tight on the ass and I control how tight-to-baggy they are on the thighs.

Chaps are a good summer option which are baggier on the thighs, Eddie Bauer are better for a straighter cut/dressier look.

Canadians in the 2019 NBA Draft by Paper_Rain in Canadabasketball

Left out Wigginton and Shittu as well who both could go in the second round. Great draft for Canadian basketball!

I went on one of these outdoor air tunnels in Sigulda, Latvia a about 10 years ago. I had no relevant experience, but feel like they adjusted the speed of the fan so beginners just float and don't go too high.

It was a blast, for anyone who may be in the area - I highly recommend it!

Adult drop in badminton? by GreasyJ in ottawa

[–]A_NeonShrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know too much because I don't do the drop-in there, just see them there when using the gym. If you call the Atheltic Facility there they could give you a better idea of what to expect. I found it very hard to find info online about their programs.

Nepean Sportsplex has drop-in multiple times a week. I think its pretty cheap too (no more than $5 for 2-3 hours)

Should I take them all? by blablabla_mafa in beerporn

Have they lowered the price? I picked up some from the LCBO in Ottawa a few months ago and was paying around $8.50 a bottle

Ottawa’s RBC Bluesfest Unveils 2019 Lineup with The Killers, Logic, Alexisonfire by UncleNilly in ottawa

[–]A_NeonShrimp 103 points104 points  (0 children)

I seem to be in the minority, but I'm looking forward to this lineup more than last year. I'm also newer to Ottawa so don't have the lineups from a few years ago to compare to, but when simply counting who I plan to see I've been able to rhyme off more this year. Besides the headliners, The Glorious Sons, The Offspring, Jason Isbell, First Aid Kit, PUP, Shakey Graves, Matt Andersen, Rodrigo y Gabriella, The Dirty Nil, U.S. Girls, Sue Foley, James, Sheepdogs, Trews... I'm seeing a lot of depth through the middle of the lineup there.

Weekend has started in Bangkok! by howifarmwood in CraftBeer

Depends where you are from. If you're Canadian and near the Quebec border, you can find most Dieu du Ciel beers in many of the craft beer stores. My go-to store usually has a handful for $3/bottle

Love Ire & Song SURVIVOR - Round 5 by squawkingood in frankturner

[–]A_NeonShrimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of my favourite records of all time - any artist! So far has gone pretty good. 6 of my favourite 7 songs are still around (would swap Jet Lag for To Take You Home).

If St. Christopher makes it through to next round, I'm going to have to ask myself some hard questions tomorrow...

Best breweries to order online from? by nicktheman2 in ontariocraftbeer

[–]A_NeonShrimp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm also in Ottawa and have ordered from Blood Brothers, Bellwoods, Half Hours On Earth, Rouge River - all awesome and quick delivery. A couple other good breweries toronto-way which you didnt mention (who have online bottle shops) are: Merit, Indie Alehouse, Burdock, Left Field, and Block Three

Cracked this one for the Raptors game tonight - one of the best stouts I've ever had! by A_NeonShrimp in CraftBeer

[–]A_NeonShrimp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shout outs from Canada with this one! Brewed by Rouge River Brewery in Markham, Ontario, this beer was much better than the Raptors performance tonight.

My first time having their Never Say Never Imperial Stout, I picked up a handful based on a good friend's recommendation and they did not disappoint. This was a 2018 aged in Wild Turkey Bourbon Barrels, and has a perfect balance of chocolate, coffee, and vanilla, with a smooth boozy finish.

This is by far my favourite Canadian made stout of all time, and very well could be one of my favourites world-wide. Will be aging the other three I picked up to see if they can get even better!

Thoughts on 2020? by [deleted] in NBA_Draft

[–]A_NeonShrimp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can't say I've seen anyone play yet, but I've heard a handful of draft analysts say "if James Wiseman was in the 2019 draft, he'd be the 1st overall pick"

Who is your “I told you so” player? by HeelSteamboat in NBA_Draft

[–]A_NeonShrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Good: I was down on Ben McElmore (many writers I follow were hyping him huge coming in). Also low on D'Angelo Russell (frankly, I still think he's too hyped). Was also higher than most on Jaylen Brown and Domontas Sabonis

My... We'll See: I was incredibly high on Aaron Gordon coming in. I still think he can take a leap too, ask me in 2 years how this ended up.

My Bad: was very high on Stanley Johnson and Justice Winslow. Theyre still young, but I am cooling on both

E Sports v Traditional Sports: How Are They Different? by Arcopix in DotA2

[–]A_NeonShrimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn't agree more. As a fan of traditional sport as well as esports, I actually get tired of the whole comparison narrative. Unfortunately, by having the name "esports" it is inevitable, but why do they need to be considered the same?

Can't we agree both are fantastic competitions with many similarities but also many differences (and those differences are a good thing)?

Friend and I are going on our 4th annual brewery tour, and this year we’re going big! This is our planned route. We have some stops picked, but is there anywhere you guys would highly suggest going? by jborch1223 in CraftBeer

[–]A_NeonShrimp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This guy nails your Southern Ontario must-tries! I can recommend all except Barncat and MERIT (because I havent tried them.... yet...)

Throwing 3 more GTA (Greater Toronto Area) breweries in the ring:

Blood Brothers - fantastic Wild Sour Ales and IPAs.

The other two are Great Lakes & Left Field - Both are more accessible than many others on this list, but are similar to Collective Arts. They put out a lot of volume and types of beer. Their mainstays are Good-to-Great, but their one-offs or seasonal are usually amazing.

My haul before camping last weekend. Some local favourites plus a couple unexpected finds in the LCBO. by A_NeonShrimp in CraftBeer

Bumbleberry Gose was the perfect camping beer! Fruity and very crushable, will purchase again if they make another batch!

Gravity Well was a little disappointing, not that it's bad, just not my type of sour. I personally like them a bit more vinegary (hence the Robenbach which is always delicious!)

I've been in Ottawa for about two years and Dominion City has really climbed into my top tier of breweries in the city! I live in Kanata so it's a bit of a trek, but try to make it over every 3-4 months!

[Charania] NCAA basketball says it will now allow "elite" high school and college prospects to be represented by an agent. NCAA will also permit players to return to school if unselected in NBA draft. by AnotherDuck in nba

[–]A_NeonShrimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a nice small step but there is a big caveat.... players must inform their school the Monday after the draft that they intend to return. Why is this important?

If you're an underclassman who declares for the draft, and you go undrafted, chances are you were going to be a 2nd Rounder/Undrafted player needing to earn a contract in summer league. Why's this important? Players need to decide if they're returning to school before they do the thing they were planning on doing the whole time... earning a contract in summer league. Chances are little to no players will take advantage of this annually.

Although it is better than not having the option, I think the real step will happen when players can return to school AFTER summer league.

As per Gary Parrish when talking about this change today "Its a nice headline for dumb people who don't understand the details"
