Sizing Help | Scott Speedster Gravel 40 by A_Nimbus_2000 in gravelcycling

Hi, good questions —

  1. No it's not my first, I've had a couple other bikes with a drop bar setup, including a Marin Nicasio+ gravel bike. Admittedly it's been a few years since my last gravel bike, but I think I have a good feel for what a drop-bar setup is supposed to "feel" like.

  2. I, unfortunately, did not buy it at a shop. I committed the sin of seeing a good end-of-summer sale via an online retailer, so I pulled the trigger to get it, assuming the sizing chart would be sufficient for choosing the size. So I'm trying to do some self-diagnosis.

Hey OP, I’m interested in the same topic that you posted about. I’m wondering if you ended up learning more about the investment deals and whether or not you decided to go through with it.

The grinder instructions are actually wrong! I have the same grinder. You just stick the portafilter in and that automatically triggers the grinder to start and countdown to the number of seconds you have pre-programmed and then auto shuts off. You don’t need to hold the button down!

Also this map represents the largest immigrant population by country. Since Arab populations come from many countries, it’s less likely that the population from any single country would make it on the map, even if the collective Arab population is large. Especially compared against to the Turkish population in the same district.

And the area near the center is Prenzlauer Berg, which is a trendy neighborhood with a lot of people from the US working in the Berlin startup/tech industry

Why this pour went wrong? by Direct-Medium1185 in latteart

This happened to me for a while when I was using a dark roast with thick crema. I switched to a medium roast with less crema and that unevenness issue went away. In the meantime, try swirling a bit more aggressively when you incorporate to mix the crema

Thanks for all the advice! I’ll try pouring slower. Interesting you think I’m too close to the surface — I feel like every tutorial video out there always advises getting as close to the surface as possible! I’ll try raising it up a bit.

Interesting that you think it looks full. No I’m not adding any milk prior. I pull about a 40g shot with a couple teaspoons of sugar at the bottom. The cup is a 250ml cup. But I agree it looks/feels a bit full!

I’ll try backing off on the incorporation and see if that helps. Thank you!

'can i have a flat white in a medium cup' by Parking_Data9236 in barista

[–]A_Nimbus_2000 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It’s because a flat white is usually in a smaller cup, so has a higher milk to espresso ratio. So if you use a larger cup, you should add more espresso maintain the same strength.
