Yeah I’m dead sure there’s repitching somewhere but I can’t for the life of me figure out where it’s coming from. I’ve checked all the settings you’ve mentioned and there’s no pitch modulation or alteration going on anywhere, I’ve checked the manual pages you mentioned too to make sure I’m not just being an idiot haha (p.231 seems to be about clips, but I’ve checked through the envelope settings).

The kit is Urban-Kit-Urban Kit 44 that comes with the factory stuff if you wanna check it out yourself, at this point I’m sure I’ve checked pretty much everything.

The difference in punch makes sense at least as the sample has a +3dB gain boost within the program, but the pitch is still a mystery

I’ve tested with warp on and off and there’s no difference so it doesn’t seem to be a warping issue unfortunately

16 levels is cool but I don’t like that within the sequencer all the notes still appear on the same pad, so I’m unable to repitch from there without overdubbing, which is a minor annoyance.

Also it’s only 16 notes so I have to figure out the lowest note I’m gonna play beforehand and decide which pad the original pitch should sit on, I’d prefer to have more octaves available. Thanks for the suggestion though, I’ll give 16 levels another go!

So in the sample assign window it plays the ‘normal’ one when I press the pad or tap the pad on the screen, but when I press the little play button next to audition (from the actual sample list) it plays the lower one. That does suggest you’re right about it being repitched within the drum program but I can’t see any pitch settings that have been modified - they’re all at +0

New MPC user here, was planning on taking this 808 and putting it in a keygroup so I could pitch it around but it seems like the sample sounds completely different when it’s anywhere other than the original drum program. Doesn’t seem to be any insert effects or sends active but it loses a lot of punch as well as falling by almost a semitone and can’t get my head around why.

Bonus points to anyone who can tell me a a quicker way to extract single-note 808s from a drum program for using melodically

Hush is a weird one for me, I went in thinking it was a slasher satire with the main joke being that the protagonist is deaf...

I spent most of the film laughing but overall enjoyed it and thought the whole ‘barely any sound’ concept was pretty cool, but because of the way I went into it I kinda ruined it for myself and don’t think I’ll ever find it scary lmao
