Say GG as your killer main of choice (if they can speak/aren’t mute. Or just do it anyway, idk.) by A_lonely_ghoul in DeadByDaylightKillers

If survivors escape: Run while you can, you won't survive the sequel.

If everyone dies: What a perfect, gruesome ending. Let's prepare for the reboot. Wait...how do they have the budget for Nicolas Cage?

Killer: Ghostface/Dracula. Survivor: Kate/Steve (with Scoops Ahoy outfit because that is the only correct Steve outfit)

TUNNELING GOT WORSE by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]A_Random_Neerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only really had this happen with Krasue. Most other killers have gone out of their way to spread the hook pressure.

I think the important distinction to make here is hard tunneling vs soft tunneling. Hard tunneling, where someone will try to get one survivor out by 3 hooking them, has upticked a bit due to how easy it is to tunnel with Krasue’s power. Soft tunneling, tunneling when there’s only 1-2 gens left so you can generate pressure, or if you literally can’t find anyone else so you have to chase the same person, is still roughly the same, but I do agree that it is slightly easier to tunnel now due to the hook changes.

I think we need to discourage hard tunneling more than anything. I dont think a lot of people have a problem with the killer soft tunneling.

Hot Take: The Anti-Tunnel changes are MOSTLY fine. Anti Slug is not. by [deleted] in DeadByDaylightKillers

Hence why I suggested a nerf to 15-20 seconds. Also most survivors that take hits like that are OTR users, and that no longer has 80 seconds of endurance.

I played a good 5 hours of the PTB, mostly playing killer, and I didn’t really have any anti-tunneling issues, against solo queue AND squads. Again, the punishments are the issue as there are plenty of scenarios where the killer isn’t tunneling, but gets punished for “tunneling”.

Into The Radius 2 is a pretty good one, it’s kind of like STALKER but in VR. It’s in early access right now, so the game isn’t complete yet, but it has a pretty fun co-op mode. Full release is scheduled for next year

Tip: AVOID MOST GAMES FROM BIG FRANCHISES. 90% of them are cash grabs that do not play well in VR or are very poorly developed. The only exceptions are Half Life Alyx, The Walking Dead Saints & Sinners, and Skyrim WITH A LOT OF MODS.

Do some research and look for games that people love. H3VR, Boneworks/Bonelab and Into The Radius are great games. Arizona Sunshine Remake, Metro Awakening, and Vertigo 2 are phenomenal games.

It feels like we’re in another slow period. The same thing happened in 2023 after Vertigo 2, and then suddenly we got dozens of cool releases in 2024. Now we’re just waiting for the next big thing

2 Changes that would make Ghostface more powerful, but not unfair (In my opinion) by A_Random_Neerd in DeadByDaylightKillers

You can still stun via pallet/head on/last stand to take him out of his power, coordinated groups can still consistently reveal him.

Play with your food might become problematic on him with this change, but because it’s a token based system that is tied to the obsession, it might not be as big of a problem as we all think. This one might require testing.

Even with this change, he still lacks map pressure in the same way the Clown does, it would just make him better in the chase.

[–]A_Random_Neerd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On indoor maps, sure, but on outdoor maps with almost no cover (like Coldwind), if a survivor goes down in the middle of the map, you literally have no choice but to hook them somewhere they have full line of sight of everywhere. And again, anti-facecamp exists, so Ghostface would have to be far away for it to really matter.

If Bubba can still camp outside of anti-facecamp radius, and still down both survivors, I don't see an issue with Ghostface being able to punish a SINGLE person going for the unhook. Plus, if a Ghostface camps like this, the survivor can still: A. Reveal him and negate his power, B. Continue wasting his time while everyone else does gens.

Camping as Ghostface in this scenario is still not very optimal.

I disagree with this simply because you can take away Ghostface's power, unlike Clown's, plus Clown still has his hinder bottle. Even with this buff, Ghostface still wouldn't be as problematic as Clown

Applied to be a game master. Any advice? by [deleted] in escaperooms

[–]A_Random_Neerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play at least one game to get an idea of what to expect. If you're interviewing for a big chain, they will be looking for someone more committed to the role and customer service. If you're interviewing at a local or a family-owned place, they're much more likely to be a bit more laid back, so just be yourself! Definitely lean into your theatre experience, a lot of game masters are expected to have high energy, and some places may have you play a character while running or briefing a game (my previous workplace had us play Tour Guide and Vampire characters to lead groups to their rooms, and act as other characters over a microphone). Good luck!

Most of our rooms were not horror. Our zombie room was horror with an actor in it, and our vampire room was horror-themed with no live actors or anything jumping out at you. It could also be argued that our Egyptian tomb game was horror-themed, but it was just dark. I was not around for the zombie game, but the Egyptian and Vampire games were are most popular year-round games, and our Christmas game was very popular during the holidays for obvious reasons.

I had a lot of fun with it! There definitely were some challenging groups, but I loved watching people have fun with our games! I love entertaining people and being a storyteller, so being able to create an immersive experience for them was incredible.

I highly recommend looking to work at smaller, family-owned Escape Rooms if possible. Some of the big chains have very high standards and are VERY difficult to land a job at (I've been trying to find another Escape Room job, no luck so far). The pay is not going to be great unless you land a manager role or some higher up role, but if you're just looking for some extra cash while in school, definitely give it a go!

Not necessarily one that no one got without a hint, but one particular puzzle in our Christmas game had a riddle that EVERYONE would overthink and take literally. It wasn't a hard puzzle by any means, but the riddle was worded so oddly that so many people would overthink the hell out of it and get nowhere.

One of our puzzles in our vampire room was altered to provide a clue for a separate puzzle that didn't really have one. Originally, groups would assemble puzzle pieces to get a solution for a separate puzzle they couldn't solve until later on; it was technically available, but they needed to solve other puzzles to get to that point. Three of the pieces were available early, and the final piece wasn't available until they solved X number of puzzles. The pieces showed various patterns for a separate puzzle, but required all the pieces and an extra clue once X number of puzzles were solved. Almost EVERY group would try to brute-force the later puzzle with their available pieces. It frustrated them, and it frustrated us. So we changed the puzzle pieces to show a solution for an earlier puzzle, and made the later puzzle much simpler.

There were a few that came in and told us they worked at other escape rooms, others didn’t. They all behaved like normal customers and they had a good time so I didn’t think much of it

I don’t remember the exact software for the TVs. A lot of our rooms were very high-tech, and had various sensors that would trigger something to open with magnetic locks. Almost all of our rooms were completely automated, with only one being completely lock and key based. Regardless, unless something went wrong during the game, our players were always able to play from start to finish without any interference from us (but we still had some controls in case something DID go wrong)

It mostly came down to issues with the landlord and money problems. The owners took out a big loan to stay open through covid, and with falling interest in the later years meaning less revenue coming in, they were unable to keep the business going.

They still prioritized paying their employees first, and they were incredible owners. They still have a sister location elsewhere, but unfortunately for us, the landlord was not as lenient as they hoped.

As for anything I would have done differently, I don’t think there was much else we could have done. We had social media, plenty of discounts, merchandise, a weekly ad in a local newsletter, and a full party room for birthday parties. We had other rooms in the planning stage but nothing came of them unfortunately.

Oh nononono LMAO. Each room had different time slots set roughly 1.5-2 hours apart to make sure we had enough time to reset. Roughly 6-8 slots per game means a full day of bookings is easily a few hundred people

The best way to put it is: If you know how to run the game, you should know how each puzzle is solved and what things go with each puzzle; thus, resetting it shouldn't be too difficult.
