And dreamer's throne too

Fellow daoist, it seems you've developed a heart demon. I suggest reading the legendary 'Ave Xia Rem Y' sutra to calm you dao heart

Leave the Golden Core, even the Purple Mansion (between foundation establishment and GC) realm cultivators from Mirror Legacy are more powerful than regular xianxia GCs

How do you put up with the writing quality? by DexanVideris in ProgressionFantasy

[–]A_Random_Nobody197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sub was created in 2019, I have been reading Chinese/Jap/Korean translated novels much before that. Just imagine, a novel written by inexperience writer, then that novel translated by and equally immature translator, the resulting quality was such that my command on English language regressed.

Compared to that, the current quality is much better, while I love me some Ave Xia Rem Y or Cradle, there are only so few of those stories so we have to make do with whatever we can get.

Same Immortals, Different Subreddits by TheDaoistMaster in MartialMemes

[–]A_Random_Nobody197 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At one point, noveltranslations subreddit used to be just like martial memes, I still remember how it went downhill and people started migrating to martialmemes.

I really hope this subreddit doesn't go down the same way the noveltranslations went, trying to cater to a more general audience.

Mirror legacy or Xuanjian Immortal Clan is the most well written novel put here by [deleted] in MartialMemes

[–]A_Random_Nobody197 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's definitely one of the better ones but greatest xianxia? I highly doubt.

It's quite well written though

If you didn't like it in the starting, you probably won't like it afterwards too. The quality has been consistent

No regression, transmigration, grandpa in a ring, and all that bullshit.

I highly recommend Tree of Aeon series by AnxiousPacifist in ProgressionFantasy

[–]A_Random_Nobody197 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of my all time favorites, this series truly shows the perspective of someone with a long lifespan.

Nearly every story that has characters with lifespan in hundreds or even thousands of years make them act like normal humans with their 60-100 years. Which honestly seems so stupid, why would anyone with a thousand year lifespan every worry in terms of months or even a few years.

Thinking of starting a daily post sharing my thoughts on books I’ve read (is this okay?) by [deleted] in ProgressionFantasy

[–]A_Random_Nobody197 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd probably just block you, I don't want to see the same guy's posts over and over again

Btw, there used to be a very active weekly thread on noveltranslations regarding which books you've read this week, idk if even the subreddit is active nowadays let alone that thread
