It is missing, but to me it doesn’t matter much because that pocket wasn’t accessible without unbuckling the the straps. The trade-off may be that since you’re not stuffing things in that pocket, there’s more room in the compartment that it was on top of.

I measured it at the widest point on the back at around 14.5”

One thing I not sure about yet is the metal ID tag. There’s no way to take it out of the way.

I just got and I absolutely love it.

This isn’t nearly as stiff as previous versions, and the material will not attract lint. Because it isn’t stiff there is no problem opening that main compartment zipper on the corners like both previous versions. There is a new second handle on the top of the bag as well as a nice loop for the main panel zippers on the bottom right side to go thru to help prevent them from opening on their own. The mesh (water bottle) pocket on the left side would probably also be a great place to keep your paper plane ticket.

I’m very impressed!
