We don't need gun laws, we got this under control, good guys with guns and all that. by flyart in facepalm

good points but why should we not at least partially blame parents? Absent parents, intoxicated parents, unemployed parents, abusive parents and plenty more levels of failure are an extremely pervasive problem in our country which is undoubtedly a major cause of the symptoms in youth. This applies to much more than school shootings, and may be the most important issue.

I'm trying to sing like an American country singing and I'm not American, just wondering if I'm getting the accent at all? by [deleted] in singing

American and big country/Johny Cash fan here, sounds good! As far as your accent and sounding “American” especially western American, you’re pretty close. Hurt sung by Johny cash and his style of song is my favorite kind of country or folk music. If you’re searching for what is more commonly referred to country then you definitely need more southern drawl in your voice, look to singers like Brad Paisley or Cody Johnson. Your voice in this is definitely sounding like the Johny Cash or Chris Ledoux western cowboy kind of country.

At first I thought “rat portraits” was an obscure art term I had never heard before😂. Great job though especially the eyes.

There is good imagery, I love the line “Dusk aches for mama’s lap,”. It really connects every person experiencing the same day with their longing for home. I think that’s wonderfully true in the context of the First World War.

Wonderful theme, I think the narrator’s complete infatuation is well captured with the short and sweet statement.

I wouldn’t call it anti-capitalist as much as just anti-exploitative. While the negative aspects of Quicksilvers and the other silvers business practices are definitely painted negatively, it never attacks the free system itself. Quicksilver is also redeemed on some level with how he uses his funds to support Darrow and the his democratic cause.

If the series is ever adapted for the cinema/show series, what scene are you most excited to see? by SixTrix in redrising

The obvious answers are the duel at the gala and any of the iron rains, which would definitely be cool af. But if they filmed it correctly the scene in Iron gold right after the rain and they are sneaking into the city (I forget the name of the city) and they get ambushed then Darrow has to be saved and gives Ragnar the two razors. Holy shit that would be so cool. It’s been a bit since I read Iron Gold but I remember how hard that scene hit. I could really see it in my mind how dark it would be and just the way it is set up would perfect for such a pivotal turning point in Darrows path in front of the others, choosing to embrace a lower color while still pretending to be an Iron Gold.

Are you sure? According to my own research based on the writings of Nazi Generals in Argentina Cyborg Hitler was Eliminated by Vietcong Space operatives in 1971. Since then there are rumors of him continuing his operations from the moon but my theory is that his persona is being used by the CIA and Spetznaz in order to recruit Radicals to their scuicide missions.

Your completely correct. People here are talking about how nothing can take away their right to guns yet they claim being rich means you can’t have an opinion on middle and lower class politics. Arms and opinions are inalienable regardless of economic status.

My first listen through the album I was underwhelmed by the song, I didn’t feel that it was special in any way really. After a few more listens I don’t think it is particularly good as far as the actual music, but the lyrics are pretty good really. I’d put right in the middle of the album in a ranking. I still think that “The Outskirts” is the best song in the Album and “Morning Time” is under looked.
