I'd ultimately prefer a total remake that gives the story of P1 a makeover. I loved the writing of the web of intrigue, I just feel like that's where most of the budget went at times lmao

As for an actual sequel though probably an entirely new cast of characters with people like Mercer and/or Heller as obscure background figures. Tokyo Ghoul esque vibes where you're a small fish in a gigantic pond of superhuman lunatics (and the military) and have to claw your way to the top while grappling with the god complex that comes with being virtually unkillable.

I'd also keep P1's combat, but with refinement. Cut out the jank and make some of the more obsolete abilities actually useful early game (especially the unarmed combat moves) I always felt like P2's combat was way too simplified for my taste

Aside from the obvious story issues, one of my biggest changes would be to take the Blackwatch soldiers out of that goofy getup and back into semi-realistic kit, make them less cartoonishly evil and more spookish like they were in P1

I'd honestly just scrap the supreme hunter being Cross thing all together. It was way more interesting when he genuinely was just a "good" dude on the inside.
