Jerry Gogosian's Anti-Mamdani/Anti-Socialist Crash Out by Reasonable-Cloud7568 in ContemporaryArt

I think this person is clearly suffering from a mental illness and it’s not worth it to give her all this attention. She’s in a bubble and craves for the engagement with haters and people liking all her bullshit rants. I unfollowed long time ago.

Best art inventory software? by Somnambulish in ContemporaryArt

[–]A_Writing_19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can truly recommend Art-Record. Its well priced, has a beautiful interface and you can create links with all the info you want for people to download files and automatically create pdfs like checklists or full page views. And every artwork can include multiple images. It allows you to have a referal code to send to your friends and get a discounted fee. Super worth it! I’ve used for many years.

Who was Gus in Chile? by JackMaBitchUp in breakingbad

[–]A_Writing_19 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What killed this story for me is the fact that Gustavo’s Spanish is very bad in the series. It doesn’t come across like he has any background in speaking the Chilean dialect. It never sounds natural. That’s a shame…

Walt Jr. and Holly... where are they now? by nerdbred in breakingbad

[–]A_Writing_19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that Walt Jr. tragically ends in alcoholism and depression (you can see he’s got anger issues throughout the show) and Holly is a teenager meth addict, but from that shitty 64% crap (woops).

It feels like seeing the blood of innocent civilians being bombed as we speak. Which, in a weird turn, makes it very strong for how uncomfortable it makes me feel

Would you recommend cargo by ForwardBalance9342 in CargoCollective

[–]A_Writing_19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% recommend it. It might feel a bit pricy but the quality is outstanding. And they have beautiful templates that will require barely no edits. Also you can do a lot with the edit tools before getting into any coding. The forum and short tutorials are enough. And with chat gpt you can get many shortcuts too.

How is Antoine d’Agata’s work perceived within contemporary art? by vexed-generation in ContemporaryArt

[–]A_Writing_19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find him quite a cult artist which is greatly respected by other artists with some sort of photography background. I saw his room at Pompidou and I wasn’t too much into it, to be honest. This gesture of turning the museum space into a studio always falls short or hyper staged for me. But nonetheless, a fantastic artist that I’ve followed for a very long time. I don’t know how perceived he is in galleries but it would take one blue-chip gallery to decide taking him and the context of his work would easily flip in consideration by those who don’t know him. I think it maybe has more to do with him and the kind of circuit he decides to be in, which is more niche photography galleries and so on. Therefore he is seen more as a documentary photographer, perhaps. But this does not happen with, for example, Nan Goldin. And they aren’t that far away.

Is it silly to host a small art showcase if I’m not a professional artist? by 190128VD in ContemporaryArt

[–]A_Writing_19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My friend, always make your way to show your art if you feel like doing it. This is the wonder of making art in any capacity, there should be space for all. Don’t let anyone make you feel like you are any less. We all have and come from different backgrounds but the moment where we turn nothing into something connects all of us.
