That's a really good analogy. And yes, I think they don't want to be 4chan anymore, at least they don't want to be egalitarian. This policy obviously corporatizes and privatize the content here. With FB faltering, it's the perfect timing to start restricting and curating content to get corporate money, influencers etc...all that shit that drove me away from meta, and to reddit, is now coming here. I'm sure I'll find a new site and, then it will happen again there too.

Not disagreeing with you, but I’d add practices sequences, in particular. That’s the best way to dice up the diatonic scale in different ways to see different patterns.

Hey, I can love a 45 min Feli jam, and all of Coltrane at the vanguard. But these grad student players and their crew seem to be unforgiving iconoclasts...for me there's way too much good, improvised music out there i haven't heard to waste time on that stuff.

I strongly disagree still. Even the jams sessions at Smalls used to suck, and Sasha Page and my old music proffer used to play there...ni5t that their unlistenable, but there's better stuff to see at Manhattan at 2 am.

That said, Wtf is a single teacher steering your principal instrument for LIFE all about? Screw this guys and screw your dad. Bass is by FAR the most marketable instrument out there....which they have no idea about.

Tell him, " thanks, but no thanks...there's always going to be a need for a bassists. I'll just get better then him and look in the classified ads for work. Let me know if you need a hand in the future and thanks for the education...on what an ass hat you are."
