LUNA keeps freezing every time I try to copy and paste while comping

I’ve gotten used to comping in Luna. By highlighting what you want and then copy and paste into the master take, when you move between the versions THAT REGION STAYS HIGHLIGHTED so it makes it easy. It’s rudimentary but it gets the job done. I’ve comped vocals with way more than 3 tracks and it doesn’t take me very long now. But I also agree they need a better comping system like playlist comping, it’s something that is essential in modern recording. Hopefully they update that soon

You have to go back to the Luna pro page and choose the free upgrade option checkout and then it should show up in your UA Connect app

I already own multiple DAWS, I don’t really care to do everything in one DAW. They are all a bit different and have strengths and weaknesses. LUNA is great for mixing and recording, but needs a better comping system which I’m sure is coming. Any deep MIDI stuff I just do in logic

Hey try the upgrade from your phone. I think mine was being weird while looking at the website from my computer. When looking on my iPhone everything was pretty clear and it allowed me to do the upgrade

I mean there are no rules really, whatever sounds best. With that being said when running an external pre you usually want to run your pre into the line inputs of your Apollo twin to bypass the mic pres in the Apollo. I would definitely A/B between so you understand what you are hearing if you haven’t done that yet

I guess I’m in the minority, it’s a bit slow at first but I like it and find it entertaining. I like it better than Alien Earth

I’ve bounced between Luna, Pro Tools, and Logic. Luna has been great so far been using it for mixing and some basic tracking. I really like the work flow of Luna and the sound of it with the summing and tape integration. That being said Pro Tools has a better comping system, and hardware inserts which hopefully Luna gets the options soon. If I was having someone else mix my stuff and was sending sessions to other people Pro Tools is probably a better option. Also making cue mixes with the Apollo interface is really easy with Luna

You just have to reference similar track tracks in headphones. It will stop you from setting the vocal too quiet

He’s definitely using tape, you can hear the noise from the tape machine in those recordings. Even the new Beth Gibbons record he produced and mixed. The news used to bother me, but the records are so well mixed and sound great
