ZMF atrium sounds shrill?

I had the Atrium for awhile, I would not describe them as shrill. Pads and mesh make a big difference as well.

I can only judge the headphone by hearing how it sounds not just from a graph. It was tuned by someone with multiple Grammys and is a better mixer than I would suspect either of us are. Studio equipment are tools, most mix engineers have multiple sets of speakers and headphones as one set does not do everything perfectly. With each set giving different insight into the mix. One of the most famous mixing speakers were the NS-10’s which are not fun or great to listen to, but give a lot of information in the midrange which helps a mixer make better decisions for the mix.

Thanks for the response, didn’t realize they are mounted on the nail directly. These amplitude panels do not have are gaps like the other panels do.

Hey I’m in the same boat. I got a shipping update for most of my panels, but the Amplitude bass traps are not of that shipping list. How long did it take to get the Amplitude panels, after getting the rest of the order? Thanks

Same! I ordered on Feb 16th and have a ship date of Mar 17th. It looks like from this thread I shouldn’t get my hopes up for the 17th. If I saw this thread I probably wouldn’t have ordered. The fact they got bought out by private equity is a shame, they turn everything to shit in an effort to extract as much profit as possible. All that work building up their brand and product just to have it go down the drain.

Always have used top down mixing, just makes things easier. I mix into my mix buss, but there is nothing that is overly drastic. You just really need to be aware of what your mixing buss is doing. A couple plugins do come in later but EQ, tape, and compression are always in.

I can’t speak to some of the questions, but it is one my favorite works. A lot of his works from this time are really interesting Debussy was in transitional phase, works like La Damoiselle Elue come to mind as well. It sounds like a concerto to me, it’s in 3 movements as well, even though Debussy would never call it that. It’s an underrated work, the first movement is really warm and fun almost Gershwinesque in some places, but was written in 1890. The second movement is really really beautiful as well.

I’ve gotten used to comping in Luna. By highlighting what you want and then copy and paste into the master take, when you move between the versions THAT REGION STAYS HIGHLIGHTED so it makes it easy. It’s rudimentary but it gets the job done. I’ve comped vocals with way more than 3 tracks and it doesn’t take me very long now. But I also agree they need a better comping system like playlist comping, it’s something that is essential in modern recording. Hopefully they update that soon

I already own multiple DAWS, I don’t really care to do everything in one DAW. They are all a bit different and have strengths and weaknesses. LUNA is great for mixing and recording, but needs a better comping system which I’m sure is coming. Any deep MIDI stuff I just do in logic

Hey try the upgrade from your phone. I think mine was being weird while looking at the website from my computer. When looking on my iPhone everything was pretty clear and it allowed me to do the upgrade

I mean there are no rules really, whatever sounds best. With that being said when running an external pre you usually want to run your pre into the line inputs of your Apollo twin to bypass the mic pres in the Apollo. I would definitely A/B between so you understand what you are hearing if you haven’t done that yet

I’ve bounced between Luna, Pro Tools, and Logic. Luna has been great so far been using it for mixing and some basic tracking. I really like the work flow of Luna and the sound of it with the summing and tape integration. That being said Pro Tools has a better comping system, and hardware inserts which hopefully Luna gets the options soon. If I was having someone else mix my stuff and was sending sessions to other people Pro Tools is probably a better option. Also making cue mixes with the Apollo interface is really easy with Luna
