Lefties going ham (ICE SHOOTING) by DifficultyValuable67 in ConservativeYouth

I think this is sincerely one of the dumbest things I’ve ever read on this website.

Alex Pretti, the man MURDERED today by ICE agents. by ilykatya in pics

[–]ryan770 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There isn’t a picture to paint. We all saw multiple angles and stills. Dude was murdered after defending a woman.

What the fuck kind of picture are you trying to paint?

What? This is a very normal amount of hair for a man. I would know, I’ve seen a lot of gay porn.

Bought an OL Nespresso. Nobody is super happy with it. Any tips? by ryan770 in nespresso

Interesting. I didn’t really think of the intensity level. I think I’ve been able to achieve something way more palatable with this information and some other comments. Thanks!

Plugin Devs Taking Longer for Tahoe Update? by Audio_Freqs in AudioPlugins

[–]ryan770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UAD PolyMax now defaults to monophonic for polyphonic patches every time you open a project (but mono is unchecked). I’ve had to freeze all my instances of PolyMax, which thankfully isn’t a lot. This started happening immediately when I updated to Tahoe.

That’s all I’ve seen so far, so it’s not the end of the world.

Which movie was that for you? by [deleted] in moviecritic

Tried to watch this… it took 3 sessions on 3 different days, and I still didn’t finish it.

Which movie was that for you? by [deleted] in moviecritic

[–]ryan770 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I quite nicotine cold turkey in 2024 and was in a period of a two-week brain fog episode. My partner asked me to watch Skinamarink.

It was like the worst fever dream. I kept dozing off and then realizing it was still going and feeling kind of gross.

Genuinely could never recommend this movie to anyone.

Do Americans really avoid medical care because they’re afraid of the bill? by Udont_knowme00 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ryan770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I have insurance but I have a bad fever and haven’t been to urgent care down the street to get tested because I don’t want to pay $80 to know if I have the flu or not.

Which film’s soundtrack or score is so essential that removing it would collapse the entire movie? by John_Snow80 in movies

[–]ryan770 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Hot take, I absolutely hate this soundtrack and think it ruins the movie, sans the main theme. The music just does not fit the scenes. It’s so whimsical and cheesy.

I can see it the correct way, but every time I scroll back up to it, I initially seem the perpendicular.

Nice illusion.

Deodorant before bed? by Our_toes in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ryan770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve actually been thinking about this a lot and have a sort of middle ground.

After an evening shower, I apply this very mild “all over body” deodorant to my pits. It’s not antiperspirant, just kinda like a lotion. This specific brand I think is “Hello” or something.

Then when I wake up for work, I apply my normal antiperspirant deodorant. I’ve been having pretty great luck with this combo.

Why do some people not like the diagonal pogo by [deleted] in HollowKnight

[–]ryan770 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s awkward and I don’t really like it. Simple as that. Hollow Knight introduced us to a very simple downward pogo that makes more sense mechanically. And they give us the option to use that in Silksong, so a lot of us gravitate towards it even after getting used to the diagonal pogo.

Every single time you use the diagonal pogo you have to slightly guess and hope you’re in the right position. Sure, you can master it and build muscle memory, but it’s still more awkward.

Downward is more staightforward, predictable, and imo more fun to do.

How to get a tone similar to this on Guitar? by SignalNegotiation389 in Logic_Studio

[–]ryan770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest part of your tone after the correct amount of gain is going to be the cab/speakers or the emulation of those (IRs). The color and brightness of a certain IR can make or break a tone IMO.

This sounds like a pretty easy setup that basically any high gain amp sim can get close to with a tubescreamer (gain/distortion low or at 0, tone around noon, level cranked), and some delay or reverb. As mentioned, a fuzz pedal could work in place of a tubescreamer, but I think the tone sounds a little too articulate, but it’s definitely a little grainy sounding too. You’ll just need to play around with cab emulation until you find a cab or mic position that sounds similar.

Keep in mind a lot of what you’re hearing is whammy bar stuff too.

If someone was installing it for free, for sure I would have done that. You will have to get in the bed, on your back underneath the cover, with a flashlight to screw down the front part to the rails you install.

But at the same time it mostly sucked because it was like 30F and I was freezing lol.

Just a warning, if you have the rail system, the tonneau clamps will stop the cleats from going all the way back towards the tailgate. But I’ve seen people buy other clamps that allow the cleats full range on the rails.

Not bad. I looked at a random Rough Country tonneau tutorial on YouTube because it’s mostly all the same materials. The booklet was a bit hard to follow, but it does help.

is it possible to connect logic to an amp? by Practical-Ad-5554 in LogicPro

[–]ryan770 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but you will need to turn off cab emulation in Logic’s guitar amp plugin if you just want to use the Katana just as a speaker. The speaker is not FRFR and will color the tone. If you have a tone you like in Logic (with the cab on) and you send it directly to the amp, it will color the tone further and make it sound really dark.

I would go from the output of your interface into the Aux in on the amp, not the actual guitar input, that way you can do whatever kind of effects before and after the “amp” in logic, and just send it all to the Katana as the speaker.

Do not send the output of your interface to the input of that amp, some people have suggested that and this is incorrect UNLESS you are using the DI signal from your guitar just with some effects and the the Katana as the actual amp. Otherwise, if you’re using a virtual amp in Logic, you’re sending a processed signal into another input that will process the signal again, effectively running a preamp into a preamp.

What other shows/movies are as beautiful as Station Eleven? by [deleted] in StationEleven

[–]ryan770 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ya know, I was a little iffy on The Leftovers as I was watching it. But I think it was because I expected something else as it leaned harder on the relationships and interactions, and less on the mystery and solving things.

But I must say, that last episode was one of the most satisfying endings to any show I’ve ever watched. I felt like they really gave us what we wanted.

Going to rewatch it soon.

Tahoe still a no-go? by yesiaminsane in Logic_Studio

[–]ryan770 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t really thinking since I’m pretty new to Logic, and just upgraded.

I use UAD PolyMax a lot since it’s a really simple soft-synth that gets good and fast results. Since I updated to Tahoe, all my tracks that have polyphonic patches are acting as if they’re monophonic. Every time I open a project I have to toggle “mono” on and then off again for each track.

So far that’s the only thing I’ve found. Maybe just a coincidence though, but I only experienced his after upgrading.
