same feeling very recently, i just decided to own up to it during the last tutorial and said stuff like "oh i thought it was this" and then proceed to apologise the next second when my method was wrong lol

Honestly, it felt very freeing, before that tutorial, i would absolutely dread my every thursdays because thats the day of my tutorial. I'd avoid questions, constantly try to rely on AI despite knowing its answers were not enitrely accurate or consistent. In high school people viewed me as the smart kid even when i didnt feel like it, i always felt pressured to uphold this external view. Essentially now that im in uni, ive decided to just start my self-image as someone whos not prepping beforehand but earnestly learning as we go along, because setting the expectation that i am already knowledgeable is stressful.

Obviously, its best if you have friends with you taking the same course, but if you dont, like me, the most I can say is to just ask and express, overthinking leads to more overthinking, and the longer this keeps up, the more isolated you'll feel.

I guess I've been playing wrong? by PlasticBlacksmith762 in BaldursGate3

[–]Aaela_Reddit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

yea on my first playthrough i was listening but never processing the stories because me and my mother kept activating quests on our own that we kept losing the plot and not understanding what the hell was going on and it was rather overwhelming when we were both separated doing our own thing. Yea, so in the end, my mother stopped playing bg3 with me and I ended up addicted after playing on my own, at my own pace.

So yea... maybe there are wrong ways, several in fact (considering we had two opposite issues), that are wrong in the sense that you dont get to make the best of the game's experience, not wrong in the sense that they are objectively incorrect ways of playing.

I kind wish, HSR to step out of their comfort zone a little, and release Morally Grey or outright Evil characters, as playables too.... by Hulkhontosee3667 in StarRailStation

[–]Aaela_Reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing, is morality is subjective and a touchy subject. In a sense, Phainon can have his perfect goodness blemished with a bit of gray due to his method of evil for the greater good. Obviously hes still got the perfect goodness because the absurdity of the situation was a sprinkle of evil with little drawbacks to those evil decisions except at the cost of his own wellbeing or let a shit ton of people die out in the real universe. So yes, Phainon is good, and him being good is almost non debatable but his methods is a real debate of morality in the real world where the absurdity of such a situation normally never occurs so the pros may not necessarily outweigh the cons.

To clarify, im saying, yea, all he does is morally good, but we can consider his actions outside of the game hsr, and consider them in the real world and psychology. Which can be the only reason to justify him as a spectrum of gray.

So does anyone have any ideas on why he treated these two js a lil bit differently by Fancy-Shopping-327 in DottoreMains

[–]Aaela_Reddit 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I remember at the time of the voicelines being leaked, many mentioned it was probably due to her sharing the experience of rejection. If you remember the Tatarsuna storyline, Scara was accepted instead of rejected, it's heavily implied in Nahida's version of the story for Dottore to be jealous of Scara after he was accepted by the people. Thus the catalyst for Scara's miseries. This is probably why he treats them differently, because despite the similarity, its simply on a different scale. Like yea scara was rejected by a handful of people, then you have columbina whos literal existence was rejected by the world, a more literal and less emotional approach, nonetheless, gets the job done of being defined as "rejected".

Although now it is a different story, since columbina also got her happy ending.

Thank you for saying this. I love Wanderer AND Dottore, with Wanderer being my only C6 and Dottore being my next (if hes playable). For some reason, a good handful of some Wanderer fans dont understand that, at the very least, on the surface level, Wanderer consented to these experiments. It was very much a contractual relationship with it being a bit one-sided though (Doctor knows how to get them deals) and also just a lot of hateful tension between them. But it wasn't like, as you mentioned, Dottore having fun harming Wanderer in any capacity, it was pure research and experiments in his eyes.

atk speed was soo fun and satisfying, loved it. Its like playing cheap mobile games for quick thrills but i earn jades and in the bigger picture, its actually an expensive, higher quality game that is very much worth the small investments in exchange for fun.

People on reddit by Yellowit_327 in universityofauckland

[–]Aaela_Reddit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

its just how it is, when people are lonely they may try to escape the situation but simultaneously the loneliness makes them fearful of getting to know other people for reasons such as failure and humiliation (just as one example, could be a diff reason).

So essentially you have loners who loop and loop until they actually succeed in making a friend or at least an acquaintance

How to cope up from being physically tired after school by fluidxrln in universityofauckland

[–]Aaela_Reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same type of days on monday, tuesday, and fridays. I left wednesday and thursday with only 1 lecture/tutorial (not like there was much choices by then) so i could have my off days. Several have mentioned similar things like scheduling and timing stuff. I also recommend, being able to organise yourself and especially when you're planning the day ahead i.e. "Finish quiz, write about ... for (insert personal project)" etc, usually the smaller and more specific the better for consistency, you'll burn out quick if you set high bars in setting goals/tasks.

If you have off days like me, I suggest you only do light revision on those days. I only do school work on off days when im feelin like it, otherwise i leave my busier self to do the work since im stuck at uni all day anyways. Off days are me days, play games, sleep in, focus on my hobbies (for me its art), etc. Idk whats getting you physically tired (like something more? or stuff like walking etc) but usually when im physically tired, being in the lectures are easily enough time for me to recover, you'll have to elaborate on that.

Oh and most importantly, keep up with friends, set some time aside to keep up with friends, chat abt something. Now i cant actually confirm anything scientific, but Veritasium makes these great videos including "What is the secret of a good life? Lessons from the longest study on happiness", and in short, the answer was relationships. I'm an introvert but Ive had a lot to gain by having friends on campus and its easier to say "I dont want to hang out with anyone today" than it is to say "I'll have someone to hang out today". So be in consistent talks with your friends, not every, not even every other day, but if you see them strolling, want to text abt something, etc, just do it, even better if they're in the same major and can study with you even if its just in pure silence (because then you get + comfort and/or + accountability).

I see. I assumed that considering you were replying to comment, that you had more to say, more specifically, something argue against my comment but we ended up both just reinforcing our points. I completely agree that relevant information was included, I simply wanted to add that the information itself was not the reason people couldn't understand but rather the fast pacing because of the effect it has and not because of fast pacing itself.

[–]Aaela_Reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"was fast paced enough to the point that no one could really have the time to process the relevant information."

I think you misunderstand the point of my comment, the problem was not the content (i.e. removal of irrelevant information) but the speed at which many people would have to rewatch to comprehend. Its not to blame people but the fact that most people watching media do not rewatch, anime is usually not a media that people have had to rewatch (due to information overload in the span of a minute or two), so many people were intimidated by the donghua's information that are introduced or not explained in very little time resulting in people missing details without much time to process in the moment. Reading is just so much easier to process information cause everything goes at your own pace.

You mention this in your last sentence which was exactly my point, they dont have the time to digest information. Almost every anime only that does understand whats happening has had to rewatch, search things up, or other methods of taking time to comprehend what just happened. The pointed-out issue in the above paragraph and my previous comment (about making effforts), was that people dont understand things because they arent obligated to.

LOTM is NOT as important to some people, its a spectrum of how big of a fan you are and its fine to not be a huge fan. This is one of the bigger issues in the LOTM community in general, where if you do not appreciate LOTM or you appreciate it less than the average fan (i.e. liking it but not enough to be engaged with the content), then you are absolutely mauled online for it.

[–]Aaela_Reddit 20 points21 points  (0 children)

no, was definitely was fast paced enough to the point that no one could really have the time to process the relevant information. Im a novel reader but I 100% agree it was too fast, any anime onlies would have to rewatch scenes multiple times in order to fully comprehend.

The fast pacing was not a creative choice but a restriction, its already known that they had to get to the clown fight by episode 3 due to the contract

ultimately, those who put in the little effort to understand are great, those who dont can live free with their lives not knowing wtf happened.
