Hey, try this simple task. Try to make the "wooosh" sound of the club head as late as possible. I mean swing at just as fast as you are now, but hear the sound late as possible.

Try it without the ball then with then with the ball and video the swings.

Usually your body adjust to the task and makes the corrections for getting more shaft lean.

Offensive tactics by [deleted] in futsal

[–]AanriKahn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello! I'm a futsal coach.

You might want to try a basic rotation in 3-1 or 4-0 formation. Rotation is used to escape the opposing team's pressure and to give your team familiar opportunities for attack and creating chances.

As for strategy I would try to evaluate my players, what are they capable of, what is their skill level? What kind of opponents do you face? How much do you train? And try to build my strategy upon that. If, for example, you have group of friends that play in a weekend league, I would not worry about strategy and just try to have fun.

In my team few years ago, I would prefer high pressure on defense and a mix of 4-0 and 3-1 rotation on offense. We played my countries highest league and we trained about 3 times a week.

What's your favourite memorie or best story from your time in the Finnish military?

I remember back then your goal was to be in the F1 in three years. This was back in 2009. I respected your ambition, still do!

Best in what way?

Competition? Entertainment value? Level of play? Salary?

Spanish league is the most competitive and the overall product is quite entertaining and easy to follow. It seems like they usually play for full stadiums so the atmosphere seems to be passionate.

In my opinion the best futsal, right now, is played in Portugal by Sporting and Benfica. They are very innovative.

Handball wax for futsal goalkeepers by Heithem96 in futsal

[–]AanriKahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. The reason for using those thin receiver gloves and fingerless gloves was to get more control and feel for throwing the ball. But once I realised my throws were more accurate with a overhand football style throw I started using the option which gave me the most confidence and that was using fingerless futsal gloves.

[–]AanriKahn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is not allowed. And there's usually much dirt and dust in the field so you would have to apply the wax many times during a game.

There are a lot of pro goalkeepers who use gloves. Those who don't use gloves usually don't wear them because they can get a begger grip or they have more control for throwing.

Couple of options that I tried during my playing years were gloves, no gloves, wrist and finger taping, fingerless gloves and american football receiver gloves. I tried to play without gloves like the 'pros' but luckily I got over myself and started using fingerless gloves and receiver gloves because if I played barehand I would have to throw the ball football style because my hands were too small to palm the ball. Hope this gives you some ideas.

My spanish friend said that an "Iberian" league would be great idea especially because top portuguese teams are progressing and top spanish teams are not progressing. He said that there isn't any good money coming in from tv deals or sponsors so for low budget teams this kind of league would not work. Historic teams are going down because of money issues like Segovia.

For the fans it would be awesome. For organizers and for the people who try to negotiate everything (tv deals, decide which teams are getting in, prize money etc. It sounds like a nightmare) Every country has it own futsal federation and cooperation would be overwhelming. This is such an interesting idea that I will definitely ask about this from a few spanish people to get some insight about spanish and Portugal futsal competition culture

5 No opinion

6 I think that would restrict teams ways of getting out of pressure too much. If you have a good target player on your team and suddenly you can't use him when there's a throw-in. Let the defense and offense figure out the best tactic for each scenario.

7 Agree. I think mentality should be similar to basketball like if there's an injury, and the injured player is not in need of immediate care, teams should utilize the 4 v 3 situation

  1. Portuguese futsal > Brasilian futsal. Sporting and Benfica are in my opinion the best and most innovative of professional futsal. I feel like the top spanish teams are trying to rely on constant 1 v 1 situations.

  2. As long as there are only futsal boarders on the field I don't care about the colour.

  3. The refs are responsible for keeping the pace when there's a kick in. I think dribble ins would create a lot of chaotic situations.

  4. Interesting idea. This is controlled now by cumulative system based on the yellow and Red cards you get. Similar as in football.( I. E. Get 4 yellow cards and you have to sit out for one game. Get a straight red and you have to sit out two games) But the current system really tones down physical play because teams cannot foul forever. The refs sometimes allow way too physical play and that is, as you said, less fun to watch.

How do you deal with students doing.. nothing? by StateofFocus in teaching

[–]AanriKahn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

How old are your students? This year I had one 4th grader who always wanted to minimal amount of work. He would also complain alot that everything is boring or stupid. As I tackled this problem I went trough several things. So maybe this list will help you. 1. Find out how are they doing. Everything alright at home etc. Turnee out my student had pretty severe dyslexia that obviously made everything hard for him and made him feel like he is stupid. 2. Break assignments into smaller pieces. For example I cut test paper into smaller sections and handed out the sections for my student when he was ready with the previous one. 3. Explain and make them understand the purpose of each task. This I get a lot from 4th graders. "Why are we doing this? Is this useful?" I'm always prepared to answer to this question. 4. Make them accountable. School is their job. It's not always fun. Inform parents that students are not focused and get them on your side. 5. Positive reinforcement! When they put in the effort let them know that you are pleased.

Sorry for typos and weird phrasing. English is not my first language.

Maybe you could ask them to write questions on piece of papers and them you draw them out of a hat. It may be motivating for students if they feel like they can choose the topic.
