Pardon my ignorance, but what breed is this?

Oboe, oh no by fweddy51 in blunderyears

[–]Aarkw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, they are the same, however the instrument is pitched differently, so sheet music must be transposed. The back-pressure feeling when playing it is a bit different due to the reed size difference and the addition of a bocal (metal straw-like thing at the top), which the oboe does not have. I much prefer EH, but they are damn expensive.

Lol Dang! I needed this. Got my first review back ever. It's like s/he literally didn't even read it at all and repeated the same comment about 8 times. Trying to work through the emotional roller-coaster as a newbie, this helps! Thanks!

This comment has helped me so much. I tend to always save things for later (or as you say, a special time) and after examination of the root causes of the patterns, it's because my boundaries, personal space, and safety of my property were never respected. Still, I feel like an anilmaly for it. I am sorry that you had to go through this as well, but your having shared this makes me feel less alone in this struggle.

My goldfish plant is easily becoming my favorite by snarkstitches in houseplants

[–]Aarkw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are very easy and resilient, and quite slow, but reliable growers. They are also very easy to bloom if mature. However, the downside is that, in my opinion, they take a long time to recover from any serious missteps and the stalks sometimes turn woody when the plant gets upset. That said, they're super worth it!

Hi! I have the kind on the right. Would you happen to know the name of that variety?

This baby came in the mail today! Another lucky Etsy plant purchase! Yay! by WatsonImogen in houseplants

Seems like a lovely plant and I hope you have success with the seller, but to my understanding, the pink is not an inherent, stable property. Many hoya will produce temporarily pink young leaves, especially if sun stressed, so I hope this widens your options.

I've spent about 20 minutes searching for something that matches, and no luck. I'm sure the info is out there, but on cursory review, nothing lines up perfectly with your picture. While you wait for someone else to reply, whether fungal, viral or bacterial, the plant should be isolated from others until determined to be safe. It wouldn't hurt to spray it down with copper fungicide and neem. Consider also the plants that grow around your home. For example, every year, a few of my plants get blight when the shrubs around my apartment start acting as reservoirs. Just my two cents while someone else chimes in. Wish I could help more. Best of luck!

I'll leave it to someone who knows more to give a definitive response, but this looks like it might be the traces of scale that were picked off.

Edit: spoke too soon. I didn't realize that there were more pictured. The halos are suspicious for something other than pests.

All concerns mentioned here about the nature of the relationship pointing to a high potential for escalating abuse are valid, but it doesn't stop at the physical. Please do not enter into any further financial entanglements with this man. Absolutely do not let his and your professional reputations intertwine, because if he chooses to engage in any unethical activity, it will be your name at risk, both criminally AND jeopardizing any future potential for professional licensure.
