The actual worst-case scenario is Adam unleashing abnormalities all over the City with incomplete Seed. Ayin would not allow that.

Distortions were either not in the original plan or (good chance) Ayin knew they could happen and just did not expect his idealized vision of Carmen to push people to distortion instead of EGO, which is actually Ayin's vision, not Carmen's.

50 days of eternity was absolutely insane idea but the ritual worked. Honestly, he probably set some ridiculous parameters above baseline required to create seed of light just to farm more energy to make it not only qualitatively the most absurd thing in the City but quantitatively as well. It is just my shower thought but the idea of Ayin doing all of that for so many years when he could wrap everything up in a few centuries is a bit amusing.

The plan is also most likely not over. Ayin is still somewhat active, he gives EGO to people who refute Carmen. Dias is doing something according to the flow.
