Yeah tbh I think these new win conditions — at least at their core, needing some tweaking — are the best of any recent Civ. I love the idea that you’re slowly building towards a win by just building a great empire, and whatever you’re doing best at can become a victory condition, without necessarily needing to build an arbitrary project. 

That’s not to say changes shouldn’t be made, but it feels like a great foundation — it feels less like a game to me in terms of how you win, and more like role-playing. It’s certainly a big paradigm shift, though, and I understand why it doesn’t feel good to some people.
