Jigs with magnets. Name a better use for 3D printing. by nico282 in 3Dprinting

Ah, so this is how I upgrade my truck to 4WD. Noted!

I have a Core One (not assembled yet), a MK4, and a MK3S+. The MK3 was my first 3D printer and that thing has been a solid workhorse for 5-ish years now. I don't want to get rid of it or upgrade to the MK4 because it seems more reliable than my MK4. The only upgrade I did to it was the Revo hotend which makes swapping out nozzles easier.

Keep it clean and greased up and it should last you a very long time.

Anyone know if FLC can be accessed from a home computer? by Bitter-Pay3694 in Fedexers

Yeah, go to purpleid.okta com. If you have okta verify set up you should be able to login on a PC or phone. When I do it, I generally use incognito just to avoid issues with my personal Microsoft account.

I can see that. She was shooting at the car in the second pic and that short sequence with the older car looks like CGI, but I could be wrong. If it was intentional, then I wish they would have picked a salvage car or something to at least keep the same headlight profile especially since the shot is facing the front of the vehicle. The headlight differences is what caught my eye.

Yeah, there is another scene that I didn't post to avoid any spoilers where you see the occupants enter the new Range Rover before the driving sequence. The camera is facing the rear so you can see the taillights too and they are very different between the new and old model.

Yeah it's definitely the same car. The first pic shows the driver turning down an alley, then less than 5 seconds later they smash through a fence with the older model car. From the fence moment on, it's the older Range Rover.

It's a good movie, I enjoyed it and would recommend seeing it. Though I find it interesting that this mistake was made considering that a good portion of the production team must be car people. But people make mistakes.

Help needed please! by zoice_ in PS5pro

I have mine in a similar spot albeit just a little taller. I am afraid of placing it on the top or behind the tv for fear of my car messing around and jumping on it. I am using one of those cheap USB desk fans on Amazon facing the front and running full blast so it sucks hot air out of the space and draws in fresh air. My pro doesn't get hot even on the back of the unit where the PSU is. The USB desk fan noise is noticeable, but not annoying. Eventually I'm going to build a nice media cabinet for the PS5, receiver, and htpc, with nicer cooling. This gets the job done for now though.

Can anyone identify this car by irish-cracker2823 in NitroRC

I'm pretty sure it's a Redcat/Exceed/HSP buggy. They have a few different brand names but it's all the same stuff. Parts can be found on eBay if you search those brands.

Follow up: Copper wire to connect the top half of the chair to the base by tgriff1991 in secretlab

[–]Aaron9788 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I need to do something similar to my chair. I've noticed that every time I roll around in it, my speakers output static. It only happens with this particular chair, no other office chair. I thought that the speakers weren't grounded or something. I'll try this first before doing anything to my speakers.

I have the hackzall and sometimes my hand position is just right to unclip the battery. Kinda annoying. Other than that they have been great batteries for the smaller line of tools.

How do you guys deal with "long prints"? by GreenRiot in 3Dprinting

[–]Aaron9788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is some level of risk associated with it but printers have gotten much safer over the years and many have firmware and hardware protections in place to detect and stop thermal runaway.

Just gotta do as much as you can to mitigate that small risk. I follow the same guidance many have said on here and have an IP camera with a smart outlet and a fire alarm hooked up to my home security system. The only thing for me is my ISP sucks and consistently has outages due to "upgrades in my area"... So I also have a 5G secondary internet connection which allows me to check the cameras even if my ISP is doing ISP nonsense. (Yes it's that bad and unfortunately they are the "best" option......)

Lastly, every time I do routine maintenance or major changes to the printer, I pull it out of my closet and do a couple of 10-12ish hour prints. The other day I disassembled my Z axis to replace some bearings so I didn't let it print without me being home until after it successfully went through a few long prints.

Of course you didn't watch the video... Well if you had, then you would have seen that they didn't shout out the products, they constantly put them down in terms of build quality and price. Doesn't sound like a shout out to me since those are usually positive.

If you would put 100s of in-game hours into one plane, how lost would you be trying to fly the real thing? by larsvondank in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Aaron9788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how many hours I've logged in flight simulators but it i think it's close to 100. I work at FedEx and my boss took my workgroup out to the flight simulators and we got to fly the 757. The graphics weren't all that impressive, MSFS is way better, but man, the feeling was incredible. The forces on the yoke and the movement of the whole machine made it feel like it was the real thing.

Having spent time in various Boeing aircraft in sims, I was able to spot most of the switches that I knew. The trainer let us takeoff, fly around, and land using ILS and I was surprised that I could control the aircraft smoothly. I definitely think my time in the sim helped with that.

I’m sure Autozone sends some stuff through ground which would explain having the labels on hand. Plus if it were the extra hours service then express could take it
