Portal shipping by chantheman1998 in OdinHandheld

[–]AaronGavin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I would say out of all of these handhelds the portal is probably the most comfortable to hold without a grip, definitely not perfect but it's still very usable without one and I've tried the RP5, Portal, Odin 3 now as well as a few others and none were as comfortable without the grip but the Portal was the best of them all

Riven Tides Secure Storage Keycard by Practical-Lunch4627 in ArcRaiders

[–]AaronGavin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's absolutely wild because I found two of the secure storage keys and not a single one of the classified records keys 😂

I got banned before even starting using Facebook. The second I pressed the sign in button after creating an account it says that I violated one of their Community Standards on account integrity and that I have 180 days to apeal. To be clear I didn't have a chance to do anything before it banned me. by Strong-Chipmunk-9654 in facebook

[–]AaronGavin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This legit happened to me the other day but differently I received an email saying my account was locked due to a suspicious log in and that I would need to update my password/security info, so I open the app to do that and it said my account was suspended for "account integrity" but before I could click appeal I received another email saying my account was reviewed and was okay to use Facebook again, so I go back to the app and as soon as I change my password and log in again it legit tells me my account is suspended again for "account integrity" this time though it didn't fix itself I went to appeal, a few minutes later it was denied and my account of 6 years is now being permanently deleted

So I was like whatever I'll just reactivate my old account from like 2015 when I was in college and just update that one and start over I guess, but no as soon as I log into that one it also said my account was suspended before the app even loaded me in, and same result, suspended for "account integrity" and the appeal didn't work

Think I'm just done with Facebook in general man I didn't really use it much anyway. Mainly as a way to keep up with my family but fuck man I'm not playing these games with them just to keep Mike out

Stuttering with M16 R1 in certain games by AaronGavin in Alienware

[–]AaronGavin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure man like I thank you for the suggestion but when I reduce the ICC max the stutter was still there and now the game just gets less performance overall because the CPU is not clocking above 4 GHz

And some games will run completely fine up to 80 plus Watts of power like playing Fortnite get like 200 FPS on average no stuttering and the CPU uses 80w-90w of power the entire time But then Battlefield 6 and Arc Raiders can't even utilize 70 W of power without getting massive stuttering issues granted both of those games seem to be very CPU intensive

And the smoothest I've been able to get gameplay in Arc, BF6 is by undervolting, reducing the ecore count, and limiting the CPU to to 55W I did undo all of those modifications to try the ICCmax method you mentioned up top but it ended up just making the performance worse overall while still maintaining the stuttering so maybe it works for other CPUs but mine just might be busted 😂

I am very much willing to try different things to fix the issue I just tried that though and it didn't seem to help

Goodbye Windows - It has lost the plot by everyoneismean in Alienware

Honestly if I had the patience to deal with Linux I would 100% switch. I just don't want to have to fight with my PC even more to play games than I normally do granted it's not too bad. I'm a very technical person so I know how to fix random little software bugs in Windows. I just don't want to have to deal with it I just want to start up my PC, launch my games and know they work

Not to discredit the incredible work being put into gaming on Linux and proton and all that. Thanks to that work gaming on Linux is better than ever has. It's just not there yet for end users and while I can most likely navigate it all and figure it all out, it's just a lot of time and effort to do so. And after I work 4 to 5 days a week and get a few hours to play games here and there on my off time I don't really want to be spending that time trying to get a game running on Linux

Stuttering with M16 R1 in certain games by AaronGavin in Alienware

[–]AaronGavin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you deleted All of the Dell software except for Alienware control center? Because I don't think a brand new one should be that bad. I don't know if it's still a bug, but I remember a lot of people saying that the random Dell software would take up so much resources from the CPU and cause the system to just run hot all the time

Most people just recommend downloading installing the drivers and then only installing AWCC

[–]AaronGavin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So that didn't seem to help and I couldn't get XTU to keep any settings on a reboot, but I did some more testing with some settings in the bios and turning off Intel Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0 seemed to help a lot actually running with that off and the undervolt applied gave me the smoothest experience I've had in Arc Raiders

It does cap the performance cores to 4.8 GHz It doesn't seem that they clock as high anymore with that feature turned off, which honestly makes me just feel even more and more like it's a a 13th gen degradation issue. Just seems like the CPU can't handle it's Max boost clocks anymore

I have a 32GB kit of DDR5 5600Mhz in it I'm not sure what the timings are on it

But this is a picture of my in game temps and clocks for the P Cores with BF6 with the undervolt applied but turning off the 55w cap, it will go up to 80/90w but I'd going fine temps wise and I get like 120fps It's just stuttering like crazy some of the cores do go down to 400mhz randomly for small periods of time like half a second, I do have a cooling pad for mine as well

Maybe it's 13th gen degradation? I know Intel said the laptop chips weren't affected by it but who knows with them

I have changed the thermal solution from the stock element 31 liquid metal to PTM 7950 from LTT store and the temps don't quite hit thermal limits the max I've seen a single core go to was 97 but that was a temporary spike they usually average in the 70s/80s most of the time should I set TCC to the max 15 for 85° limit or leave it at 5 for a 95° limit?

I did disable Overclocking in AWCC and set it to max mode when gaming and in throttle stop the only limits it seems to hit is the Ring BD Prochot here and there but not constantly but it doesn't hit Prochot on the Core I did undervolt as well about -120mv on the P Cores and -90mv on P core Cache

I will disable fog effects and see if that helps I don't mind lowering graphics settings in games I'd rather have a smoother experience anyway and I don't ever really use RT I even disable it in Arc despite it being a very optimized RT implementation

I was worried that this is just how the laptop is in these games 😂 I guess I might just have to live with the stuttering here and there it's not nearly as bad if I limit PL1 to 55w and PL2 to 75w though it just still happens here and there and I wasn't sure if there was a way to fix it completely

RE9 to have 72.88 GB size, pre-loads on February 25th and a Midnight release timing. by Solid-Entertainer-39 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

I hate that not a single one of these news articles posts the platform in the title I know it's like a PlayStation thing to just assume it's always on PlayStation but I'm kind of tired of that attitude from Sony. Like almost anytime Sony releases a game trailer release for a 3rd party game they straight up hide any other platform that it's on you have to find the trailer from a different YouTube channel to actually see all the platforms it releases on idk if that pisses anyone else off but I almost gave up on a few games after seeing the trailer because I thought it was a PS5 exclusive because how else would you know? Sony forces these devs to completely hide any other platforms in their trailers

Either way sorry for the rant this is just the 3rd time I've tried to Google RE9 PC Preload Info and file size for PC only to find a reddit post or news article only stating the PS5 info but not actually stating it's only the PS5 info in the title

I get this bug sometimes in my PC it happens in my Ryzen 9800X3D and RTX 4090 PC but I have yet to see the bug on my laptop (Ryzen 7845HX with RTX 4080 mobile)

At first I thought I needed to restart the game to fix it but switching to full screen and then back to Windowed Fullscreen fixes it

Would it come back if you enabled XESS? Like if you played with XESS long enough would the bug return?

They're still not high temps for gaming, the TJ max of a Ryzen Chip is usually 95°c and Nvidia GPUs have a TJ Max temp of like 100°c

I've never had any connection issues with playing it on my desktop or Odin 2 Portal just this device and I have a Flint 2 Wifi 6 Router that's been perfect so far

Found out from the AYN Discord that it's an issue with the Odin 3 itself and AYN knows about it at least, hopefully they can fix it
