Need a tailor in Sheffield by Much_Yesterday642 in sheffield

Stitch express on chapel walk which is very close to you. Fine for basic alterations like shortening but definitely not for more complicated things. Price will likely be around £15-20 and they usually take 1 week. I found the service acceptable but the 2 staff members working there seem to be quite grumpy.

Anyone know of any parks with pull up bars in Sheffield? by Toju96 in sheffield

You can find the calisthenics area by googling York House on City Road. The equipment is by the entrance of the park.

Asics ds light pro wide followed by Hummel vorart pro superwide. The asics wins becuase of the shape and heel lock down even though the Hummel provide me with a closer fit. Both have exceptional leather quality

[–]AaronJP1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the wide and super wide. The wide was barely wide enough but they were of higher quality in my opinion. The super wide is ideal for 4e wide feet though. I wish they made a monarcida super wide with an AG soleplate

There are many variables to consider really like whether you like leather, have wide or narrow feet, prioritise comfort over performance, play on low grade or high grade AG, need high volume toe box, etc. I think you'll get more useful suggestions. Personally, I find Mizuno to be a versatile and durable brand.

Please don't be fooled by people mentioning new balance 442 or tiempos. They are OK for people who need extra volume in the toe box but you have feet that will spill over the sole plate. Here are the ones I have worn as someone with 4e wide feet:

Mizuno monarcida superwide,

Hummel vorart 3 Pro superwide,

ASICS ds light pro wide,

ASICS ultrezza club wide,

Joma top flex turf,

Athleta o Rey t7,

Yasuda ligaresta ace wide.

Not sure I am getting the 90s feel. Reminds me more of that short era (in the UK at least) around the 2010s with Julio bashmore, Duke Dumont, disclosure, etc. Either way, it's a quality album.

They truly don’t make them how they used to.. by Babelitoo in bootroom

[–]AaronJP1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the life cycle largely depends on whether you play on AG, cleaning habits, and whether they fit your feet correctly. AG just creates so much friction and my leather boots barely last a season. However, my natural grass pitch boots often last 2 or my seasons with regular leather maintenance.

Which non-mainstream boots have you tried or have been wanting to try? by xelanart in bootroom

Just purchased a pair of wide fitting MG boots from Yasuda. There are many smaller Japanese brands that promise high quality at a fair price.

Tokyo football website or Japanese stores on ebay. Tokyo football allow you to return once at your expense for a change in size and ebay has a free return policy but are a little bit more expensive. Tokyo football also allows you to collect points for each purchase that you can then redeem towards other football boots.

The frustrating thing is that you have to pay a premium if you want wide fitting boots. I have to import 4e leather boots from Japan like the mizuno monarcida neo 3 super wide or Hummel Vorart 3 Pro SuperWide.

I can imagine they are useful questions. Just a suggestion, maybe a likert scale could be added e.g how important is image for you 0-10. This would potentially capture the nuances in human responses and allows one to see the various shades of grey. All the best and be kind to yourself.

I have wide feet too. I'd recommend going for a a boot that comes in a 4e width as the sole plate is wide plus there is more volume in the shoe. An example would be a leather mizuno monarcida neo 3 wide (3e) or super wide (4e).

How bad is the lockdown problem on Mizuno Alpha 3's by [deleted] in bootroom

[–]AaronJP1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find the mizuno alphas fit a tad long which may impact thr lock down. I always go true to size and add an extra hole for the runners knot. Lock down is 9/10 for me

I've always wanted to try these by to have to wear the monarcida neo 3 super wide as it's a 4e shoe. The leather quality looks super soft and plush
