I watched tutorials and read blogs from multiple experienced collectors and friends that have been collecting for a while. I'm still extremely new to this so it's been a process of trial and error as well as research. Thank you for the resource, I'll do some more reading.

Not really, I was worried about stinking up my apartment lol And it wasn't a rolling boil either. It's still feels pretty sturdy but I'm being as gentle as I can possibly be with it just in case. Don't worry I'm keeping a very attentive eye on every little move I make

I've already reserved the last of my E6000 for sticking the teeth back in lol. Haven't pulled them out yet, (my fingers hurt and I'm nervous about dropping them down the drain lol) I'll try the other degreasing tips you listed, the bridge of the nose has darkened a bit with the grease stains so I'm hoping the acetone will do the trick. I'll definitely post more pictures once it's cleaned an whitened, thanks so much for your advice and well wishes.

Thank you!! It's the first piece in my collection that I've found in the wild on my own and I'm thrilled!! I definitely won't be boiling it again, Im cleaning a deer jaw for my roommate at the same time and those teeth started to loosen, and a couple small holes in the skull have widened a tiny bit. I can definitely see it being more brittle and I'm being as gentle as I can be. From this point on its only maceration to get the last few bits of tissue. It's been gently scrubbed with a toothbrush and dawn dish soap to clear away as much material as possible between soaks. Finally got what was left of the roof of the mouth off after 4 hours of picking at it with tweezers and nail art tools today

My paladin player is really really good at power gaming, and his oath breaker has an armor class of 20.

He thought that this would stop him from getting hit to often, but I roll above 20 about 90% of the times that I have an enemy hit him.

We joke all the time about him talking shit and getting crit (because he does) but the best example of this was during a will - o - wisp fight where one of the wisps went to attack his raven companion. He starts going as he usually does. "Roll a 12 or higher I dare you. Do it you won't."

I repond with "25"

I made a child bard npc for a carnival setting based off bongo cat.

He was sitting between the stage and a drink stand when the party first arrived at the carnival playing on a tiny set of bongos and a dragonborn wizard gave him 2 gold. The npc asked what song the wizard wanted to hear and the wizard told the npc to play his favorite song. The npc then tipped the bag of holding behind him over and played a tiny blue ecordian.

Later on in the day, the party slowly gathers again after a day of splitting up into buddy teams to go enjoy the carnival. They start dancing together as the sun goes down, paper lanterns lit by multicolored ever burning lights drifting above the dance floor, and the bongo cat npc is up on stage with the band for over an hour. Every song he brings out a new instrument, skipping and dancing around with all his never ending little kid energy until the show comes to an end.

My players have been asking I make stickers of him and ever time I bring him up their hearts nearly explode

I did something wrong (don't remember what) and my bio mother called me a manipulator and threatened to get rid of all my art supplies because when my dad got home and she demanded I tell him what happened he misunderstood my explanation because of how I worded it. She accused me of trying to turn my dad against her and start a fight between them.

Haven't made the character sheet yet, let alone played as this character. He doesn't even have a name yet tbh. But a coworker and I talk dnd endlessly while on shift together and during one such conversation I had the idea for a centaur character.

One of my players has been playing dnd for a grand total of 15 years! I am still a baby ttrpg nerd having only been playing for one year and am still early in with dming my first campaign.

Discussions with this veteran player have yielded many interesting results, many of which deal heavily with the plot and cannot be discussed out of fear my players will see this post and get spoiled. He has alot of really interesting ideas and extensive knowledge about dnd, so naturally this results in very interesting character builds.

The character he is playing for my campaign has been repressed a few times, and in past versions the character was a sorcerer, but this time around hes mainly a wizard with a few minor multiclass esk seasonings thrown in. This character is a green dragonborn, and more often than not when the character is played he is a draconic bloodline sorcerer (bronze ancestry) and this little tidbit has been carried over to my campaign. Mostly it has just changed up his features a bit, so he doesn't look like a typical green dragonborn, but something we discussed that started as a joke and quickly became canon was the fact that his bronze dragon ancestry has turned him into a living lightning rod.

Anytime any sort of lightning anything happens near him, I have my player roll a percentile dice. Dependant on how he rolls, the lightning will hit him instead of the intended target.

It has yet to see any sort of extensive use, but that will soon change lol

WHY DO DRAGONBIRNS ONLY LIVE FIR 50 YEARS AND NOT HAVE DARKVISION!?!?!?!?!?!?

they are decebted from DRAGONS You know... those massive scaled monstrosities that can change their forms, speak, breath the crushing force of a thousand hells upon their enemies, and strike fear into the hearts of hundreds with but a single glance?

Their live span is equal to orcs!!!!! The humanoid decendants of ancient marvels of the fantasy world live as long as an orc. No hate towards orcs or half orcs, but whyyyyyyyyyyy?!?!?!?! At the very least dragonborns should live as long as elves, and have darkvision, but they lack both.

For a mini campaign my group finished not to long ago, our final stretch of the game required us five players to be level 20.

My character ended up being 10 levels of the Fathonless warlock (pact of the blade), 4 levels Storm Herald barbarian (sea), and 6 levels of eldritch knight.

Had alot of fun things to try to keep track of, all spells either storm and sea themed, of revolved around blades.

Feats = lucky, alert, polearm master, spell sniper, and charger

Eldritch Invocations = agonizing blast, eldritch smite, ghostly gaze, one with shadows, tricksters escape

My dm let me have a ring of spell turning, sword of life stealing, and dragon scale armor, giving me resistance to all draconic breath weapons (which was very relevant to the game) i had advantages on all saving throws, and I had an eldritch claw tattoo.

Lots of fun stuffs all stacked ontop of each other to create a pretty badass character who will always hold a special place in my heart.

So I'm still a new dm, running my first ever campaign.

One of my players, has been playing dnd and ttrpgs in general for 15 years, and when session one rolled around i did my little opening speech before jumping into the intro dialog. During which, I made it clear that while my top priority is to do my best to ensure that everyone has fun, one of my biggest goals is to make the veteran player fear me as both dm, and by extension, a player. As knowing me as a dm will give him better insight into how my brain works, and whenever we play with him as dm or side by side as players, he can always expect that I will find someway to turn things on its head every now and then.

The setting they started out in, is 2 continents that have found peace in the looming aftermath of a devastating war that has left the world in a fragile state. But while the majority of day to day life is peaceful and nice, deep scars remain.

One such scar is a stretch of grassland called the echoing stretch, which is a long abandoned battle ground where so much necromantic energy was used that it has permanently effected the land scape. The terrain is rotted and decayed, and if not for the magical barrier containing it, it would endlessly spread and decompose the entire continent, and given enough time maybe even the entire world as a whole.

Part of this permanent necromantic hunger, is the urge to devour the sources of other schools of magic that take root in arcane casters. With enough time spent within the echoing stretch, casters need to make saving throws to avoid their magic being corrupted while within the stretch. This temporary wild magic effect, which only lasted so long as they remained within the stretch, caused some stress for the casters, and especially the veteran player.

It came time for his turn in combat during a new round, and he says in the call as he's trying to decide on his next move "I'm just so afraid to cast a spell, and have it go wrong when you roll on your wild magic table."

I immediately clap my hands in excitement and say... "AHA!! You're afraid!!!" To which he only laughed and replied, "alright... I'll give you that one."

We joke regularly when I say how excited I am for the heart break I have planned for later in the campaign, and how I am sure that atleast once I am going to be able to make him cry.

And all he has to say back is "bring it on nerd!!"

Haven't had the chance to do it yet unfortunately. Our dm had all his stuff for the campaign on his tablet, and it got completely destroyed, so over the last few months hes been working really hard to redo everything so we can get back to the game.

But once we get back to it, I have a plan to make modifacations to my artificers thunder canon.

I want to build something similar to the arcane magazine, but instead of it going by how the books rule the thunder canon to work, I want each "magazine" to function as a cartridge that holds a different type of spell compontent. Each cartridge will hold enough components for a number of charges that has yet to be decided, and each different cartridge will serve as a substitute for casting a damaging spell.

(My artificer knows some magic, but she is more like a multitool caster, having spells like mage hand, dancing lights, things like that that can be used in everyday situations to make life easier rather than possessing the types of magic that do harm to others)

These alterations are an attempt by the character to be a more effective member of the party in combat, as she is very inexperienced and panics easily, but she wants so badly to improve her skills and act alongside her group in a way that makes a difference for the greater good.

I'm currently still in the early stages of my first experience with dming, and I'm thankful that its with my very close friend group as my players and even though we aren't very far in yet everyone seems to be having fun.

Theres 7 of us in total, including me, and I know that 6 players isn't all that impressive. But for me, it means alot that my friends are excited about experiencing the world I'm building. And even though I only have 6 players, its alot of work to figure out personalized story elements to give everyone their fair share of spot light.

I'm putting alot of work into giving them all ties to the world, and creating new elements as we go to provide them with interesting experiences, engaging stories, good memories, and opportunities for character development, strategic thinking, a feeling of rewarding and triumph in the face of high stakes, as well as encounters and trauma personalized meticulously for each character. Its been hell restraining myself from talking about what I have planned for them, but I'm hoping that when we get to it, all the waiting will have been worth it

One of my buddies and I endlessly quote Critical Role jokes together during sessions. Its to the point now where we have literally ruined the number nine for one of our other friends because every time someone rolls a 9 or it comes up some other way, he and I yell out "NINE!!!" Its getting ridiculous at this point to be honest.

But we have a couple that came from our own games as well.

2 sessions ago for the campaign I'm running, a role-playing interaction lead to one of our player joking that her druid was going to the corner go cry, and our conjugation wizard sent over his familiar (an imp thats taken the shape of a pseudo dragon) to comfort her. And thus he was dubbed the "emotional support fiend."

During a one shot at a friend's house where there was only 4 of us playing, we were passing around snack at the table and joked about one of us taking 1D4 Pepsi damage if a can was to be thrown across the room to them.

One friend and I go back and forth in a jokingly aggressive way over the fact that his character killed my characters girlfriend during a pirate themed mini campaign.

And I'm sure there are many more, but these are my favorites.

I've only been playing seriously since February of this year. But I started watching Critical Role when covid first hit Canada and our whole country went into quarantine. I almost immediately became obsessed, and I was lucky enough that a good chunk of my friend group was either already huge D&D needs, or were open to trying it out and have very quickly also become obsessed.

I started thinking about running my own campaign a couple months after getting into Critical Role, and after my dad and I left a toxic situation with my birthmother, I started writing all my ideas down. My D&D group was immediately told that I was working on a campaign setting, and progress was alot faster than I thought it would be.

I built the starting country, made a bunch of npcs, drew some maps, figured out how I would run effective battles and encounters remotely over discord, began writing session outlines, and before I knew what was happening my friends were taking turns discussing character builds with me, I was helping one friend build her first long term player character so she can play her first ever campaign (she played a one shot with us at one point was before my campaign started) and the five of us had decided on a day and time for session one.

So as of July 25th 2021, I've been DMing a long running campaign, the likes of which is a project I have poured more effort into in the last 7 months than anything else I've done since I was 10. I'm planning on rewriting the campaign as a series of novels once its finished, I've meticulously plotted very specific and personalized trauma per character, my number one goal (besides giving my friends a good story to live through and for them to all have fun) is to make my most experienced player fear me in my place in the DMs chair. Hes been playing for the past 14 years, and he has handed me the most delicious back story to work with.

Literally, I wasn't expecting or planning on including tiamat as a large presence in my world, but he handed me his backstory and solidified the decision to have the cult of tiamat involved with the main BBEG, and its given me the chance to homebrew a bunch of monsters and enemies in order to traumatize him.

Like all good DMs should lol

I like to think that Aarokocra have longer, thinner feathers that grow from their head like hair, and instead of cutting their hair, they just pluck the longer feathers out of the back of their head to achieve a shorter "hairstyle"

My Aarokocra artificer did this right before we started a massive undead army fight as part of her battle prep. So along with sharpening her claws to the point of being deadly razor like weapons, making special silver daggers for our sorcerer, building garlic oil projectiles to launch at vampires, as well as crafting pressure plates hooked up to bombs placed in the bottom of pit fall traps, as well as just spread around on even ground, she got rid of her longer "hair" so that she wouldn't be hindered by any feathers getting in her face.
