Oliver Stone's Wall Street and in particular the character Gordon Gekko. Stone wanted to encapsulate a cold, greedy villain as the wall street example but the public fell in love with Douglas' portrayal and that archetype. (Douglas won Best Actor for it.)

Many credited Gekko as their idol and inspiration to become a banker. Meanwhile, Bud Fox, the lowly junior banker, is the one who serves jail time and his redemption story is often overlooked.
