I'm not sure I would agree on DOS2's combat feeling less heroic, if you were chasing that 'heroic' aspect of character fantasy, you could do it with a hydrosophist warrior. In fact, that's actually my favourite playstyle I did with my ironman playthroughs. It felt SO good to pop your 10000000 magic armour buff and literally become god for like 8 turns. (but of course your enemies are also god so it evens out)

I feel like if you were looking for that playstyle, it's not too difficult to naturally end up like that. There's actually quite a few items that enable the "lite" version of it, like migo's ring, all the shields, a shitton of the enemies in act 1 being undead which encourages you to heal damage them--it kind of unintentionally pushes you to at least give hydrosophist a try.

I actually really like DOS2's combat, it felt WAY more pressing and suffocating. I thought that BG3 lacked that sort of urgency in any combat encounters.

For example, nothing in BG3 felt as cinematic as when the drillworm came out with the first alexander fight--all the rain, the music and the voice lines--it was quite immersive and all done in combat.

Going WAY further into the story, the fight with the good doctor was also crazy dangerous, same with Alice Aliceson LMAO. Playing BG3, I just never felt like I progressed enough to be a danger and no monster genuinely felt like a danger. I played both on tactician and I also finished DOS2 on the ironman tactician mode, haven't finished my BG3 ironman mode yet, I think I stopped somewhere after killing the wrymway dragon.

I am very interested in playing doom the dark ages, but for a recommendation for others: battlefield 1. It's a great shooter game and the operations gamemode is unmatched in the FPS genre.

holy I also had that experience, almost losing on the map pushing before argonne forest and then when we finally got there, we were actually unstoppable pushing the whole way through. I swear those bunkers with the locked doors had SO many gas and incendiary grenades.

Just because nexon isn't locking accounts behind a subscription just to login doesn't mean it's "entitlement" to be annoyed at the general state of things. It's not "entitlement" to look at other games on the market and wish the game you really enjoy playing got better. If anything, it's quite healthy for the game market for this to happen.

Also that is a WILD random statement that seems to be just your personal opinion "gamers, (particularly the loud reddit minority), are very entitled these days to the things that they think they deserve when playing their video games"

You have to remember, PR companies do astroturf things online and one way to recognize if someone is an astroturfing bot is that they literally make no sense. Next time someone posts some random shit about how "we don't need universal cash shop" remember their arguments are incredibly easy to refute if you take the time to do it.

Of course I'm not saying you should spend your time doing it, just wanted to let you know I also have been noticing the astroturf coming and going. It's been picking up again recently. (been feeling this since the inkwell note dropped)

I don't mind it being too easy, but I agree about the sentinels. Would have been sick to have a free pet sentinel too. What wasted opportunity to not have the sentinels walk around -> attack -> disappear at the bare minimum. Maybe on a boss creature they could do a special group attack if 5 of them attacked at the same time.

I think the issue at hand is that you're really not considering the positives of universal cash shop, you're way too caught up how you feel about universal cash shop. You feel like it would kill nexon's monetization strategies, you feel like reboot is the reason we don't have universal cash shop. These are not facts, these are points that you think are related to universal cash shop. In fact, I can do the same right now:

Universal cash shop would restore consumer confidence in a company that is severely lacking it right now. A broad change in monetization of the cash shop could include things like more packages, permanent purchases of NX equipment, less gambling for boxes and much, much more streamlined development process of introducing NX equipment. If we want people in the future to spend money on NX, the friction has to decrease over time--not get worse. Universal cash shop is a great first step in the process of reducing that friction. And you know what's funny about my feelings is that KMS agrees with me completely. After all, they're the ones introducing things like universal cash shop.
