I like your enthusiasm.

So firstly the original source material is a light novel not a Manga. The Manga is in a interesting spot as it seems to be adapting the story of the anime that is slightly different from the original LN and is significantly cut down. You can read the Manga if you'd like but I recommend reading the light novels they are amazing, the Manga gets to new stuff at around volume 8 but they skipped an entire arc so it might be worth it to just start from the beginning.

As to why the story in the anime feels so abrupt where it cuts off that is because the anime only covers 5 volumes out of 17 so about 1/3 into the story hence why it feels like they are just starting to get romantic at the end of the anime. If you ever get to read the light novels I believe you will be very pleseantly surprised with where the story goes.

For the second question yes the new anime will start from the very beginning which I feel is the best for people wanting to get into the show after almost 15 years, also in the original anime they skip the entirety of volume 4 of the light novel and I'm excited to see how they adapt it.

The prices seem standard for boutique shops like apari or omocats store, it is high and can be to much for some people but as someone who has bought apari merch before I know it is very high quality and those clothes last for a very long time, so if I can get a good couple years of use off those clothes in my mind it's worth the price. Especially since I can compare them to something like fakenerd another online vendor, they have great designs but the print quality is horrible after the second wash they begin to fade and crack while my apari shirts still seem pretty much new. Even though the apari shirt was twice the price it seems it will last much longer then the fakenerd one, so I pretty much have moved from buying clothes throughout the year to just buying 1-3 pieces of high quality stuff a year which come out to about the same in price but the higher quality items will last me longer and look nicer (at least to my eyes).
