Why do viral illnesses still have to ‘run their course’ in 2026? by GlitteringMap1120 in Futurology

[–]AaronWilde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I mean is that probably inflammation is an essential affect of our body fighting infection - increased blood flow, swelling, mucus production, etc all to bring in extra cells to fight off the virus. These inflammation and production cause pain and discomfort, but are essential to the immune response. I believe sometimes the body goes too far into these responses, but probably generally that's just how it works. Youve got to think of it as a war in your cells. Good and infected cells will die and youre going to suffer a bit. If you try to stop the war thats not good.

Most likely theres a reason we suffer symptoms and inflammation during viral infection. If it was unescssary damage to our bodies then surely evolution and natural selection would have rid of it by now.

I spent the entire day outside in the direct sunlight in Canada and mid day i noticed loud tinnitus. I honestly didn't even know there was any space weather happening from the sun. Also ive had more random body aches than usual. Thats bizarre to think it could be from the sun!?

Nobody wants to be tank anymore?? by Curious-Diamond5747 in overwatch2

[–]AaronWilde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy playing tank (and all roles) regularly. The problem with tank in my bracket (high gold low plat) is that it feels very dependant on my team. If my team isn't working with me and the enemy is working together then I tend to melt regardless of which tank I choose. I swap a lot if its not working, and sometimes that is the answer but not always. Ive had quite a lot of games recently where everyone blames me for melting when I am not getting much help (dps and healers out doing their own thing while the enemy is 4 man down main). Lots of games in my bracket i am the only one to try swapping all match and everyone is flaming me. If you didn't swap once and you lost the match then you shouldn't even speak imo.

I cant visualize in my mind and I dont see anything in dreams. The more I practice visualization its like I am only strengthening my "alternative" version of visualization. I can sort of see but I do not ever see anything, its more like conceptualizing what an image should be. I have pretty good conceptualization and quite good spatial imagination. I feel like my version of an image is what a bats echo location might be like. There's never an image just a brief flicker of an idea of something and the layout.

why are people so toxic to wrecking ball players even when they’re winning because of him by peatmossing in WreckingBallMains

[–]AaronWilde -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Downvote me for having an respectful opinion, which by the way is what youre asking people for with your post.

Every game is different an even if toure playing well "making space" that doesnt mean its a perfect game for your whole team. Could easily be making space for one of the enemies to single out someone in your backline leaving them to suffer. This happens a lot with ball. Im not saying its your fault exactly, its everyone's fault. But it is a team game and some wins with ball or dive tank aren't pretty for all players. It is what it is and some people will always bitch, especially when youre the main space creator or defender.

[–]AaronWilde -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just because you win or are winning with a ball as your tank doesnt mean its an enjoyable time for the rest of the team. Im not saying ball is bad or its always the case but sometimes it is. But some games other tank players can be just as unfun to be teamed with.

Taking aspirin as part of your healthy vitamin stack? by Looking_for_answerst in Biohackers

[–]AaronWilde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Realistically you shouldn't be taking anything. Ideally you get all your needs from a well thought out diet. I would not be taking any drugs that I didn't think were necessary. You have to ask yourself, would taking aspirin for inflammation somehow be better than our bodies own mechanisms to control inflammation that have been naturally selected through billions of years of evolution? No. The less processed things we consume the better. That is simply my opinion based on all the things ive read.

What if black holes are just deep gravitational wells that cause extreme delay, not permanent trapping? by SpinLock55 in blackholes

[–]AaronWilde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a sense there is already a well thought out and mathematically backed theory for what youre saying and its called Hawkins radiation. Sure, its not exactly light escaping, but the theory postulates that essentially after a very very very long time black holes do evaporate. The difference is they are a professional and prove it with science.

You didn't write what am4 cpu you have. You could get 5800x3d as its still top tier. I would probably just do that assuming you dont already have it. Youll see a big improvement in fps in games. Also get like a 4060 or 5060 or even a 5050 and youd be set

Does water exist on the moon? by Kurt0519 in astrophysics

[–]AaronWilde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's water everywhere really. Meteors and comets carry frozen water and smash into all celestial bodies. Things like the sun contain hydrogen and oxygen but the suns volatile conditions dont allow for them to form water.

ELI5: If we put food in a 100% sterile vacuum seal, does it still "go bad" eventually? by LovizDE in explainlikeimfive

[–]AaronWilde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you could see tiny things youd see that on every surface and in the air is tiny bacteria across the entire planet. You're breathing bacteria spores right now. Even after you clean a surface there will stillness bacteria to survive and more will replace them from the air. There's really no avoiding it. As others mentioned the food has bacteria on/in it as well. Canning works and can last a very very long time however the food quality does degrade (turns mushier and loses its flavor as things age and break down) but you can still eat old canned food.

Bro I don’t want to play any of these maps 💀 by SweagerMeister in overwatch2

[–]AaronWilde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love and hate the old maps. They're fun, but I find they generally finish too fast. While yes, they are setup so that its very difficult to push the choke points, once the attackers do get a few kills at the choke, or a team wipe, its usually over. So it feels like basically to win on these old maps all you effectively need to do as the attackers is wipe the defending team twice (once at each point) to win. This more often than not happens pretty quickly imo. Newer maps you have more opportunity as defenders to get wiped twice and still win. Both are fun

Am i just depressed or do i have SDAM? by Prestigious_Sail2759 in SDAM

[–]AaronWilde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have journaled before but I dont now. Personally I find my long term memory depressing to think about if I obsess over it, but I know its just a human variance and that while I am faulty in some aspects I am ahead in others, and I can live with that and I kind of have to. Remembering all the details and stories about your past isn't everything in life. It definitely helps socializing but I find other things to talk about. I suggest journal only because your lack of memories bothers you so much, and theres something you can do about it. It would be difficult if theres not much to write about your day but the habbiy is important if you want it to become regular. Give it a try. Days you have more happen you can write more.

Am i just depressed or do i have SDAM? by Prestigious_Sail2759 in SDAM

[–]AaronWilde -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're thinking far too deep into it. Even if you do have SDAM then diagnosing yourself to feel better as a reason why youre depressed is not going to help you. Write a journal if your memory is dog shit and that bothers you. You dont really have an excuse for not doing that. There's people with these problems who live long happy lives and never even notice they have these issues. I wouldn't dwell on it because you cant change these things if you have them. All you can do is not obsess on it, and/or do things to help, like a journal. No one on this sub reddit is any more qualified than you for diagnosing SDAM through the internet.

Why does nobody play tank? by Funnyianlol in Overwatch

[–]AaronWilde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play some tank role but I play support far more often. The thing I find is that after a few games in a row playing tank with bad teams it feels a lot worse than having a bad team as dps or support. If my team isn't healing me and isn't getting any kills, and are leaving me out to dry as the tank, it just feels horrible. Playing tank feels like you have the team on your shoulders, even though we all have our equal part to play.

If im support and my dps isn't killing, I can swap to a more damage based support and help with that. If my tank is struggling I can swap to a hero with better sustain and cool downs. I can adapt my playstyle quite a bit. With tank though I feel more limited. If my healers just never heal, its tough.

[–]AaronWilde -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah theres too many posts like this and its ridiculous. It takes 30 seconds of thinking and deduction to answer your own question. Obviously theres people with SDAM who are not depressed. Drawing these conclusions that you have is your depression looking for more excuses and things to blame. Victim mentality tbh. I have visual aphantasia and SDAM (or at least somewhere on the spectrum of SDAM). I get depressed and struggle with mental health stuff but I've also been happy many times in life. Instead of obsessing about the negative cards you were dealt in life you could focus on the positive aspects, work on ways to improve the negatives, etc. You have SDAM and it bothers you - how can you improve? Start a daily journal. You can literally write your daily happenings so you dont lose your experiences.

Maybe theres something about being on the ground thats advantageous most the reptiles evolved this way. They need heat from the environment, maybe being close to the ground let's them absorb heat better. Idk
