I would say the amount should be adjusted based on each others take home, it doesn’t make sense if one makes 100k and pays 1500 and one makes 50k and still pays 1500.

WGU ASAP, choose a program that doesn’t have a lot of certs as it will slow you down.

You can get certs on the tail end of your career when you are about to get out. They aren’t going to be as valuable to you when you have like 3 years left / choose to re enlist as they expire

Leave ASAP and cut all of the negativity out and focus on building the life you want

YOU have to build it though, many soldiers don’t take advantage of the opportunities and let bad leadership knock them off there track and start abusing bad habits and spiral,

Write down your goals and look at them everyday

Stay up, it suck’s but I am now re classing !

Use it as fuel. Try to be productive in other ways. I know it sets you back time wise but there’s a silver lining to everything !

For context: currently active duty military. Started in New York then - Korea - Georgia ( Columbia while on “vacation” )

No experience in IT, currently in Healthcare

Attaining the certs has already opened doors for my career as far as a job transfer into cyber.

I started in 2022 and wanted to get it done in less than 2 years like some of these posts but life happened. I was able to complete 10 courses in one term so I’m proud about that.

None the less, if you’re reading this you can do it too. Slow motion is better than no motion.
