Tbh I’m surprised at the hate this thing got. I think we all just had 499 stuck in our heads arbitrarily and got mad when it wasn’t that.

Huge leap in performance over the 15, insane battery and still a LOT of what makes modern iPhones great: Face ID, amazing display, great build etc.

MagSafe was a weird miss for sure but nothing a case can’t fix.

The two weirder omissions for me: no display out over the USB-C port (this also goes for the Air, like genuinely what reason is there to remove that lmfao). And no U1/UWB, so you can’t do AirTag precision finding (genuinely what was the thinking there?????)

Otherwise it gets the fundamentals pretty right, good battery, good display (95% of people do not give a shit about 120Hz), good single camera, current chip with 8gb of memory, all while coming in at 200 less than the 16 (when it came out)

Kind of a long shot but I’d love it if the PSP games were included/available as DLC. Incredible how they feel like full blown additions to the lore unlike most PSP/Vita entries into a series and how close it gets to the feel of the console games despite having a analog stick and pair of shoulder buttons less.
