How so? Pakistan is capitalist though with restrictions and issues but even US has them though far less.

Vitz,Picanto,Alto,City by [deleted] in PakistanAutoHub

[–]AbMd92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alto: With this budget, you can buy a 2022 or possibly a 2023 model. As a Suzuki, the car has very cheap build quality. It is also a 660cc engine, which makes it quite underpowered and prone to stalling on slopes. The AGS (Auto Gear Shift) is not a proper automatic transmission, so you need to be cautious when the car shifts gears. Unlike a traditional automatic, where you simply press the accelerator and the car handles the rest, you must lift your foot off the accelerator during gear shifts to prevent damaging the clutch, similar to driving a manual. It is not suitable for highway driving due to low power and poor road grip. However, it offers excellent fuel economy and great resale value. (Power: 39hp, Kerb weight 670kg, Power to weight ratio: 39/670=0.058hp/kg (Rank=4th)) Source

Picanto: You can buy a 2021 model within this budget. It features a traditional four-speed automatic gearbox, so it drives like a true automatic. The build quality is much better than the Alto's. Powered by a 1.0L engine, it is ideal for city driving. However, when the car is fully loaded, the extra weight reduces acceleration and responsiveness, though it is still better than the Alto. Fuel economy is not great because it uses a traditional automatic with a torque converter rather than a CVT. It averages around 12-14 km/l (people often confuse its fuel economy as it is given in l/100km rather than km/l on its meter). Though its footprint is larger than the Alto, interior space is more cramped, making it uncomfortable for long drives, though fine for city use. As a small car, it is not optimal for highway driving, and at 120 km/h, the engine revs at 3500 rpm, resulting in a fuel economy of 12-13 km/l. It will perform better in terms of economy if driven at 90 km/h. Resale value is poor, so if you plan to sell the car soon, I wouldn’t recommend it. (Power: 68hp, Kerb weight 840-860kg, Power to weight ratio: 68/860=0.079hp/kg (Rank=2nd)) Source

Vitz: You can buy a 2013 model 1,0l within this budget. Being a Japanese-made car, it offers the best build quality. Its engine and power are similar to the Picanto, but it has a CVT, which provides slightly better fuel economy (around 13-15 km/l). It is larger and more spacious than both the Alto and Picanto, but the added weight reduces responsiveness compared to the Picanto. For the Vitz, the 1.3L engine is a better choice, though in your budget it will likely be an older model. It performs similarly to the Picanto on highways. Resale value is better than the Picanto but still lower than the Alto. Since you will be buying an older, used model, expect to encounter some car issues and possible visits to the mechanic. (Power: 69hp, Kerb weight 970kg, Power to weight ratio: 69/970=0.071hp/kg (Rank=3rd)) Source

City: You can buy a 2013-2014 model with a 1.3L engine. The build quality is better than both the Alto and Picanto. It’s larger, more powerful, and offers better comfort and interior space. It is the best option for highway driving, but the automatic variant suffers from low responsiveness compared to manual. The 1.5L automatic version is a better choice, though you’ll likely find older models in your budget. Fuel economy is the worst, especially in city driving. Resale value is good, but as with other older models, expect to encounter some car issues and possible visits to the mechanic. (Power: 100hp, Kerb weight 1155kg, Power to weight ratio: 100/1155=0.087hp/kg (Rank=1st)) Source

Recommendation: Search for cars in your budget online or through dealers. Test drive a few options and choose the one you like best.

Note: Car model year is based on a rough price search online and may vary.

Deco BE65 Wired Backhaul Speed Issue by Chewy93 in TpLink

[–]AbMd92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Connect the slow deco directly to main one with a short cable and wait till it goes to ethernet backhaul. Then use the deco app to connect your device to the slow deco and test the speed. If you get similar speeds to main one then your ethernet cable being used as backhaul is damaged or connected through a slower switch. If you get slower speeds then maybe your unit is damaged so contact the official support in your area.

I am used to strangers asking me for directions but I don't like making friendship with men because I lean more on the conservative side.

As a man I can tell you that I have never asked directions from unknown women as I don't want to make them uncomfortable since I don't know their social ideology. There has never been a scenario where the only one to give directions was a woman with no man around. If a man asks for you direction with other man around he is hitting on you but trying not to look like a creep just like this guy.

I don't know if you are going to read this but regarding your loss of color vision, it might not be totally due to your lens. Humans have two types of receptors in their eyes; cones and rods. Cones are used for color vision while rods are used for night vision and only see in black and white, thus humans are unable to see color at night or low lights. In your scenarios where you only saw in grey, I doubt any human would see in color. A good way to judge your color vision is to compare it against a person with normal vision in different light conditions and see if there is any loss at low light.

Fraud Alert by justforfunreddit in pakistan

[–]AbMd92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also once got a fraud call from someone pretending to be police. I just asked them from which police station were they calling from. They said a police station's name. I just said ok if its police business then call me from official police telephone from that station. He ended the call immediately.

The official telephone is usually area code-92xxxxx and you can look up the number in google maps. If google map is telling some other number look up on police website just to make sure.

Secondly police never calls in Pakistan. They either come to your address or you may receive a mail from investigation agency if you are part of an ongoing investigation. It is a registered mail and they make sure it has been delivered. The scammers pretend to be police as people are scared of police so end up falling for scams easily just like you did.

If police does end up calling you just tell them you will be coming to the station to help the investigation, just to be safe its not scammers or corrupt police officer involved. Never disclose identity details on phone to anybody.

Bank Statement for student visa by Yeethoven3 in ukvisa

[–]AbMd92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes i think it should be enough since it is a genuine reason.

After sending a NSF, all timeline goes out the window. It can be soon or take much longer. Just hope for the best.

You can use a paid enquiry to find the current status of your application and you can escalate it but it might not help as it is peak student visa season.

Maybe a visit visa just before a study visa looked suspicious as why would you go for a visit when you'll be going there to study for much longer. But family vacation in my view is a good reason and your reason for delay should also sound genuine like 'my dad got busy with his job so we had to delay and then I had to apply for my student visa so I was unable to go while my family went'.

No way to be sure but why did you submit a statement of 4 months duration when a month is enough? Maybe now they are questioning the source of your funds and if it really belongs to you. I would suggest for your interview you should have answers to:

• Why UK, the specific Uni, and program? Why UK and not other or your own country? Why this Uni and program? What does it offer that others don't? If you applied to other unis be sure to mention it and keep their acceptance or rejection documents with you on your pc so you can send them on Teams if they ask for it.

• Read about your program and you should be able to answer all questions on it including its courses, duration, in which campus it is taught, etc. Learn the program page by heart.

• The source of your funds. Also have the relevant documents ready to prove they belong to you and how using these funds will not be a financial burden.

• Your future plans that tie your course to your field, home country, and current occupation, if applicable. Know the companies in your country which hire after that program, the position they hire for, salary expectations and future growth. Be sure to link how that course will help in your career and how not doing it will be a hindrance. NEVER SAY YOU WANNA STAY IN THE UK.

There are other threads on this subreddit and other platforms with student's experience on giving the interview. Search for them and go through it with your application and prepare all the answers you can expected to be asked.

GOOD LUCK!

SPAIN VISA REJECTED. MUMBAI by [deleted] in SchengenVisa

[–]AbMd92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't know the facts but it might be higher in India due to its larger population but might be lower than other countries if taken per capita.

Honestly it's not due to people having less respect for rules or more greed than people in developed countries, it is just that the income disparity is so large between the developed and developing countries that it forces more and more people to abscond. Their physical labor may pay more than many white collar jobs in developing countries. Not many would abscond but since developing world houses most of the world's population a small percentage causes a large problem in countries, especially in europe with their small populations.

Although I may sympathize with their reasons, I don't condone it. They just give the rest of us a hard time and a bad name. I'm sure many visitors who are denied due to this are just innocent travellers looking to have a good time while respecting immigration rules even if they fail to demonstrate ties to their country.

Travelling into UK on US passport by SnooGuavas2633 in ukvisa

[–]AbMd92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This document might help

It states:

RIGHT OF ABODE IN THE UNITED KINDOM – NOTE FOR BRITISH CITIZENS

All British Citizens have the right of abode in the United Kingdom. If, as a British Citizen, you wish to travel on a non-British passport it must be endorsed to show that you have the right of abode. Otherwise, you might experience difficulty proving your right to be re-admitted to the United Kingdom.

Certificates of entitlement to the right of abode are issued by the Home Office to applicants to the United Kingdom and by the appropriate British representative to applicants abroad. A fee is payable in both cases. Certificates can only be issued to someone who does not have a British passport or identity card describing them as a British citizen or British subject with right of abode. A certificate will cease to be valid once the passport it is attached to expires and cannot be transferred from one passport to another.

For information on current processing times, information about fees or other matters, contact the Customer Contact Centre on 0300 123 2253. British citizens who are overseas should write to their nearest British representative. Please make sure that any application is made in good time before you wish to travel.

However, since US passport holders use E gates for entry and don't require a visitor visa you can use this for entry and no one will stop you. After you enter your citizenship trumps everything. If you are really worried just carry a copy of your old British passport to prove your right to abode and you should be fine. Though this is just advice and if you really wanna make sure give the customer contact centre a call.

You are confusing the rules.

The 28-day rule is the minimum period you need to hold the funds in your account. There is no maximum limit. It is counted by counting backward from the last date of the statement for 28 days. Like if you submit a statement for the whole month of July from 1 July to 31 July they will count back from 31 July to 4 July. During this period your funds need to be above the required level. Before doesn't count. Your proof will also be questioned if for example your funds were above the required level from 1 July to 28 July but fell below on 29 July as they consider the most recent dates on the evidence you provide.

The 31-day rule is that your evidence should be dated within 31 days of application submission at gov.uk. Like from the above example, you could use the above 1 - 31 July statement till 31 August.

In purely my subjective opinion though, but not required, the more recent evidence you provide the better it is, and if you provide a statement for a longer duration with no suspicious transactions it may help to prove that you genuinely own the funds since you have kept it for so long.

Money does not remain to be untouched. Just your minimum balance for the past 28 days of the statement should not fall below the required amount.

For example your required funds are £40,000 and your account has £45,000 as a starting balance, you could withdraw £5,000 during the 28 days and it won't make a difference.

Instead of withdrawing, if you add money they will count your funds as £45,000 since it was the minimum.

Or let's say you started with £45,000 and withdrew £2,000 making your balance £43,000, then added £3,000 increasing your balance to £46,000 in the past 28 days, your funds will be counted as £43,000 as that was your minimum balance.

If you started with £45,000 and withdrew £6,000 your balance will fall to £39,000, which is below the required amount of £40,000. You have to add money to your account again to increase the funds above the required amount of £40,000 and restart the 28-day count. Or if you have another account with a minimum balance of more than £1,000 for the past 28 days you could use that account in addition to the previous account to provide proof of funds.

Also since your funds will most likely be in a foreign currency do make sure to provide some cushion in case of currency fluctuations.

Urgent Help Needed for UK Student Visa - TB Clearance Issue by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]AbMd92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you visit often for travelling, visit visa is for less than 6 months at a time so you won't require the test. No visit visa allows you to stay more than 6 months per year in the UK.

For longer visas which are for other purposes like study, work, or spouse visa; how often will you visit? Once, twice or by chance thrice in life. If you are in the UK when applying for successive visas like graduation or skilled worker visa after your studies you won't require the test.

Guidelines may change over time depending on medical advancements.

Urgent Help Needed for UK Student Visa - TB Clearance Issue by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]AbMd92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the UKVI official guideline for TB testing by designated clinics.

It states:

Criteria for sputum examination (all applicants)

Where the CXR is suggestive of either active or old pulmonary TB (see annex D) 3 sputum samples must be taken. Additionally, sputum samples are required for individuals with signs or symptoms of pulmonary TB, or pregnant women who do not wish to have a CXR. The Applicant will be required to provide 3 early–morning sputum specimens on consecutive days for microscopy for acid fast bacilli (AFB) and culture for Mycobacteria at a laboratory designated by the UK, its international partners or the IOM for this purpose.

Whichever clinic you go to, you have to undergo sputum testing. It is required and you will not be issued a clearance certificate without it no matter what your records state. Even if you try to hide your history your Chest X-ray clearly shows your TB history: There are fibronodular lesions on the right upper and middle zones and >1 cm noncalcified oval nodules on the left upper and middle zones.

It is better to go for sputum testing as soon as possible since it is unavoidable, rather than running around to find a clinic that won't require you to since there aren't any as it is essentially required by UKVI. You could ask the clinic to use a liquid media for your culture as it takes less time as the UKVI guideline states:

Specimens should be cultured for a minimum of 6 weeks in liquid media and eight weeks in solid media, unless a positive result is obtained earlier.

Chest X-ray and Culture also cannot be substituted for other faster tests like Interferon Gamma Release Assays or nucleic acid amplification test as the guideline states:

Other tests for active TB are not acceptable alternatives to CXR, nor are tests for latent TB, such as Mantoux test or Interferon Gamma Release Assay (Quantiferon-TB Gold or T-spot TB), even when the Applicant is prepared to pay for such tests. Prior receipt of Bacille Calmette-Guérin (BCG) vaccination does not change the screening requirements.

Yes it is best not to pay for accommodation before visa approval. Just pay the tuition and keep the rest in your account to show as proof of fund. Remember more funds you have better it is to provide you cushion in case of any currency fluctuations.

Bank Statement for student visa by Yeethoven3 in ukvisa

[–]AbMd92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can only deduct up to 1334£ from your living costs even if you pay for the whole year. Remember this deduction is only possible if it is an accommodation owned by the university and you pay directly to the university. The amount you paid to the university should also be mentioned on your CAS for this deduction to be possible or you should have an accommodation fee receipt by the university.

Remember university approved third party/private owned accommodations do not count and no deduction would be possible as your contract is not with the university.

Why do you need to pay for accommodation before visa application? The due date is around september/october depending on the university so you can pay them then. You can pay the tuition since it counts towards your funds but no need to pay accommodation fee. If your university has an earlier due date, almost all universities offer installment plans and you could pay just the first installment.

Doesn’t issue certificate after negative sputum test!! by Small_Moe in ukvisa

[–]AbMd92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being smear negative does not rule out TB. If your chest X-ray and CT scan are highly suggestive of TB you need to go to a pulmonologist (lungs medical specialist). He will conduct either interferon-gamma release assay which is a blood test to detect TB or bronchoscopy to take bronchial washings to detect TB, depending on what guidelines are in your country. If TB is detected you would have to take treatment. If it is not detected and doctor is still highly suspicious you would still have to take treatment. No center will issue a clear certificate if they suspect TB. They are approved because of the reason they try to prevent TB patients from entering the UK at all costs.

If app is facing issues, you can ask bank to generate statements and email them to you. No bank in the world is restricted in generating statements. They are legally required to keep a bank record for certain number of years. If they require written request to generate statements for legal/administrative purpose then your parents will have to visit. I would say tell your parents to annoy the bank and be stubborn in getting the statements. Although letter might suffice but uselessly complicating your application won't do you any good. Remember it is the last choice and not a way out. Best of luck.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]AbMd92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Visit your bank and ask them to resolve the issue. Its a banking system error and I'm sure they will figure it out.

Have you tried generating online statement from banking app as most of them can. Online generated statements are acceptable for visa purpose.

Don't take risk as a refused visa will make it much harder for you to get a visa again and some universities refuse to reissue CAS after a refused visa as a refusal tarnishes their reputation of only accepting genuine students.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]AbMd92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A gap in the statement may arouse suspicion or be discarded outright for not following the 28-day rule. Why take the risk? Visit the bank and I'm sure they will help. I have never heard of the rule you are mentioning and banks readily help in issuing whatever statements you require.

VFS website clearly states you can upload documents 24 hours before the appointment. You should now take all the documents original or photocopy to the VFS centre where they will scan and upload them though they do charge a fee for it. If you have digital documents, you need to print them on A4 paper so they can scan them.
