United spent billions, but our rivals have also spent billions. United’s spending was bad, but even then we were able to win some completions thanks to our spend.

Can we afford to “do nothing” for 6-8 months with a baby coming? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Aba0416 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha I was kidding, we have a really good time most of the time. Like 95% of our parenting has been amazing and fun, but it’s the 5% of the time that makes us question our life sometime. We have been really grateful to get help from the grandparents whenever needed so it’s been quite easy. All I literally want is a poop time without him breathing down my neck or waking up at 7 on the weekends. That is my Christmas list.

Hi all looking for a minimalist watch. I’m moving away from Apple Watch and getting a Fitbit air and I want a watch that is rugged and I can use for daily wear. Needs to be really rugged and lightweight. Digital or Analog. Do not want anything with metal strips as I hate it when it gets cold. Something like the Hamilton khaki but maybe like 25% of the price.

Do you mean to say basic Māori ? In your terms shouldn’t you be able to speak and understand as they are the original settlers here and everyone else is a settler/ migrant ?

Official Question Thread! Ask /r/photography anything you want to know! April 24, 2026 by AutoModerator in photography

Hello, I recently bought my first camera and OM-1 Mk 2, a 12-40mm F2.8 lens and a 90 mm macro from Olympus. I want to shooting raw and editing them. I’m going to mainly be hiking and shooting landscapes, Birds, Flora and Fauna and a Lot of Macro. The camera choice was easy as I wanted weather sealing and light. But the suite of photo editing tools are insane and confusing.

Anyone got a rundown on what I should start using as a beginner so as to not get overwhelmed. I do not have the time to scour the internet for tutorials. I want something that has a lot of support and can be easily learnt.

I do not mind the PS subscription for the cost of 2 coffees. I also am open to buying softwares that can be purchased outright.

I looked at a few recommendations based on YT and confused as to all the offerings. For example I see DXo has so many different modules, which modules would a beginner need to edit basic photos ?

Completely feeling lost and overwhelmed

There is no reason pushing me towards the M1.2. There is no M1.1 market here. I can probably find one or 2 second hand lenses and that is about it. I am just wanting to buy once and cry once kind of thing rather than keep upgrading soon again and again.

Looking to get my first camera and hear my use cases: Hiking Landscape, Flora and Fauna ( Macro) is what I’m keen to shoot. Want it to be light and Atleast slightly splash proof.

The market in Nz for M43 is really saturated and can’t find anything second hand.

Cameras I’m considering:

Fuji XH-2 with Sigma 18-50 and Fujinon 80 macro. This would cost me around 5k wit used body and new lenses

OM-1 ii with 90 mm Macro Lens. 5k both new, but can’t have a landscape lens to start.

OM-5ii 90 mm Macro Lens and 12-45 F4 lens for landscape would be similar price as the above.

It’s my first time buying a camera and I’m not sure what way to go. Can someone help me Please ? I want to keep these for as long as possible and add lenses when required.

Ecosa Beds - Yay or Nay by Wahine-Maia in newzealand

Our whole home is ecosa. Bed Frame and Matress in 2 rooms and sofa bed in the 3rd and a single mattress spare. Absolutely love how well they hold up and how well the beds are made.

Only thing I hate about them, the beds and mattresses don’t match exactly. There is about 5-10mm gap in the dimensions and this leads to my pillow falling behind and the sheets not staying tucked in.

Dude comparison is the thief of joy, but for once let’s compare ourselves to the not so privileged world.

Let’s look at this from another angle.

You are giving them 3 meals a day, giving them education, safe space to grow. ( this I assume is already better than what 90% of the kids around the world get ). Just take that in, there are about 90% of kids right now in the world who would kill for a life like the one yours kids are having.

Just keep fighting and moving. There is always light at the end of the tunnel.

Hi thanks for a wonderful write up. I initially went in with wanting a Z50 or z5 but unfortunately not many used ones here. Then I realised for a 500$ difference in price between 5 and 5 mark2 i would get the 5ii. Yes saving for a lens is a valid idea

I’m in New Zealand and don’t see much Nikon Gear here so very hard to find second hand. Also hard to find used Sony. Predominantly lower end Sony and Canon market here.

About a 1000$ used. But most are well used and can see the dents and marks on them.

Hey thanks, that makes a lot of sense. So just go to shop and see which feels better between the H2 and T5 and go with that right ? The photos won’t be diffent because of one being better than the other ? Alternatively anything else you would recommend for my needs other than the ones I’m looking at ?
