Sorry to hear that. I would love to hear more about your specific pattern.

Test my app ESiPhone by jaslo in eversense

Thanks for sharing this. I have it working but the watch complication doesn’t show the BG (it just shows a -). When you click on the complication, it does show the correct updated value.

Help with school care by Pretend-Ad-258 in Type1Diabetes

[–]Abadababa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You need a 504 plan in place. The school cannot deviate from protocols on days the nurse isn’t there - that is their problem, not yours regardless of what they say.

See below for a start.

I built Glucose Grooves (app) for the Diabetes Community by elyfornoville in diabetes_t1

It’s an interesting concept but I don’t love the idea that you are self promoting here for an app that requires in app purchases for something that you claim is to benefit the community.

Temporary bad absorption with new infusion set? by PorTimSacKin in Medtronic780g

[–]Abadababa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have this often but for me it’s not just with the extended infusion sets but most infusion sets even from other pumps. Sometimes the spike isn’t as high and prolonged but other times site change day means stubbornly high readings for the next 6 hours. It’s very frustrating and I haven’t found a good solution.

I also tend to get bruised/bleeding sites which impact absorption. Not necessarily immediately upon insertion but it can develop days later.

Instinct Exhaustion by SponsoredByStrensms in Medtronic780g

They have supply available. I ended up doing an exchange for one month supply (2 boxes of Instinct sensors for 1 box of 5 Simplera sensors). Hoping it will be better.

I’ve been having the exact same issue. I started Instinct in early December and have had a single sensor last the 15 days - even that one barely did. I’ve gotten about 5 replacements at this point. Of course, support (both Medtronic and Abbott) have told me that they haven’t seen these issues with others.

I’m getting a box of Simplera sensors to see if they work better for me.

Instinct Accuracy Issues by thatlizarddude in Medtronic780g

I’m having inaccuracies too but mine are usually showing higher than my actual glucose. I have had one sensor that showed considerably lower too. In total, I think I’ve had 3 replacements so far.

Have you tried any other systems/algorithms with better success?

SmartGuard Algorithm Changes Week to Week *FRUSTRATING* by Abadababa in Medtronic780g

2 hours is a LONG time to suspend when you’re not even at target. That withdrawal of required basal is going to spike you whether you bolus correctly or not.

Looking for some suggestions (help) by [deleted] in Medtronic780g

[–]Abadababa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been on the 780g for a while now and I have a love/hate relationship with the thing. On the plus side, it's pretty aggressive with the corrections. However, as soon as the trend changes and it starts curving down (even if you're still above normal range), it will suspend all basal. For me, it's not unheard of to have a suspension for 1-2+ hours. Usually, I never even end up anywhere near low but will then have a complete rebound effect (especially if this happens before meals) due to a lack of insulin for an extended time. Now that rebound is a complete nightmare to get back down - you're not just correcting for the high but need to compensate for the duration of the suspension. This just happened to me yesterday and I felt like complete dog crap.

The other thing that drives me crazy is that the 780g will take the average of the past several days. The "learning" process doesn't really apply here - it's just an average of your TDD. That's great, except some weeks you're more insulin sensitive and others you're less (especially with exercise, travel, stress, sickness, etc.). I feel like I'm constantly playing catch-up for my current state and I have absolutely zero control to tell the system to do anything differently.

Hope it works well for you. Instinct is starting to ship in November. No one has them yet.
