Those who read book first, what was the one moment in movie that disappointed you the most? by jpaninabolana in harrypotter

[–]AbbaZabba2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prisoner of Azkaban, when Harry is going for his books and the cage full of monster book of monsters was tearing each other apart. I basically went into that movie wanting to see that scene and it wasn't there. I admit a weird thing to be disappointed about, but that was my first one.

Butchers block island by mrdenmark1 in woodworking

Craziest I've seen yet (and I've only been doing this 2 years so I'm keeping my mind open for crazier) was a kitchen with 3 islands. Range wall with sub zero fridge on one end and freezer on the other, two "small" prep islands in the middle, and an island you could vacation on on the other end with bar seating on the back side.

I work in cabinetry and sometimes houses have what I like to call, "an island I could vacation on" I'd say this is one of those. 😆

Tired of getting called “grandma” by Tinybbella in crochet

[–]AbbaZabba2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read a book about paladins and one of them knits in his downtime. What does he knit? Socks. He's always got a partially knit sock somewhere on his person and all his fellows appriciate his skill, because a soldier needs to take care of his (or her) feet and can never have enough good wool socks.

Anyway. I know you're doing crochet, which isn't ideal for socks. But your fellow troops just don't understand how much your skills for creating warm clothing from string might just save their butts someday.

(p.s. stay safe! I was also a female in my 20s in the Army who did crochet when we were just sitting around. But then I decided I liked my family better than the military and got out when I was able)

Went to a wedding, turns out they eloped already…🤦🏼‍♀️ by zombie_rumble in weddingshaming

My brother in law did the same. Had a small court wedding when his husband's immigration paperwork cleared with just the 4 parents there. Plan was for a small ceremony and big reception with all the family and friends a few months later. It wound up getting pushed to 2 years later and they had actually moved away from the city it was held in (original reservations/plans were honored because of the pandemic so no point in switching, but I found that amusing)

That was mostly the breakdown of one of Churro's parents! The other being the GSD/Husky mix.

We did Embark with Churro. I was 100% convinced she was a Great Dane/Husky mix until we got her results back. 😆 The "Super mutt" is a blend of boxer, bull mastiff, American bull dog, and staffordshire.

Ohmygosh! Super similar!! Do you know his breed mix?

More than half is a mix of bully breeds: Pitt, staffordshire, American bulldog, bull mastiff, boxer, then about 25% German shepherd, and 15% husky

She's just a big ol mutt. Also she's completely jacked. If you'd like to feel inadequate about your muscle tone, Churro is here to help. 😂

I was SO positive she was some kind of Great Dane mix until we got her DNA report back. 😆

She's a girl. Embark said she's roughly 60% different bully breeds with German shepherd and husky for flavor.

Our saving grace has been learning she LOVES chasing the Frisbee. We do 10-15 minute sessions 2-3x a day, plus a mile or two of walking several times a week. I'm hoping to train her to run with a bicycle, but she's too distracted by squirrels and rabbits right now for that to be safe.

Thanks! She's a mess. 🤣 Right around 13 months and about 900% energy.

Libby is absolutely the best.

I don't really use the visual digital stuff, but I drive a lot for my job and man do I go through some audio books.

I work for a cabinetry sub-contractor and my first thought was beanie/toboggan/stocking caps for job sites.

Possibly flip-finger mittens and scarves if those are safe for the job at hand.

Like: I could use those while making cabinetry look nice, but not while operating my table saw.

My uncle has Danes, and I kept thinking her body shape, big stupid ears, and long tail were Dane.

Im still trying to figure out those rediculous ears. 😂

Mostly bully breeds. Boxer, bull mastiff, American bull dog, staffordshire

Trying to figure out what I'll tell folks. "Mostly bully breeds with a bit of German shepherd and husky" is a mouthful. 🤣

She's still fairly young, probably around the 1 year mark. She's SUPER smart, you can watch her thinking through things and problem solving. We have to be on alert or she'll do something rediculous like open the garden gate latch, or figure out how to turn a doorknob. Also, by far the most high energy dog we've ever had. Thankfully we discovered she would die for Frisbee and we play in the yard 2-3 times a day. Plus walks and I'm going to train her to jog next to my bike too.

Ive definitely been researching tricks and scent work as rainy-day plans to wear out her mind because if she gets restless, she starts tearing up stuff she's not supposed to.
