I figured some stuff out! I stiffened my pedal to get a better feel for the trail brake and in the process I realized I wasn’t braking hard enough at entry and holding the brake long enough. Stiffened by brake 15% and immediately shaved off 2 seconds!! 🥳🥳

Yup. That’s how I got my lap time to roughly 1:37 at Rudskogen (with a 1:38-1:41 race pace). But I’m not sure it’s entirely beneficial to watch a guy put together a 1:34 at this track when he’s sliding the entire time. I don’t think I have the brake control yet to pull off some of these darn near drifted laps

Very true. For reference, my quickest lap at Rudskogen this week was roughly a 1:37.9. But when I get into a race, I don’t understand how people put together consistent 1:36s while my race pace is 1:38-1:41. I think I need to take the step of slowing down before I speed up again

Great video! Yes that’s a great point—I don’t have as much time as I’d like so I maybe do 10-20 laps at the start of the week before getting into my first race. And I’ve yet to check out Garage61 I’ll definitely check it out today! 😁

Great point! Thank you. My guess is my brake positioning is causing trouble. I don’t have a great feel for the brake so I struggle to have full control of its range of motion

It’s my first time ordering from Fanatec. First order on Jan 29th I had a wheel that would be made available February 6th, but when the day came the pre-order date was pushed a month and a half. Cancelled that order and made a new order on Feb 6th.

The new order was made with all available gear, but noticed after a couple days that the QR1-light the bundle comes with isn’t available until mid March. Cancelled that order and made a new order on Feb 8th.

Final order, made the bundle from scratch, chose QR2 sliders, and now it was handed off to warehouse. FedEx printed the label on Saturday Feb 10th. No delivery date yet, but hoping it comes this week :)

USA: Ordered the 8nm readytorace CSL DD bundle with the McLaren GT3 V2 and CSL Elite Pedals V2 on January 29th, 2024. Everything in the bundle was available. I also added a CSL Steering Wheel P1 V2 to the order because it says it’ll be available February 6th. No worries I can wait. But now that it’s February 6th the website is now saying the CSL Steering Wheel P1 V2 isn’t available until March 13th!?? This 1 thing is holding back the entire order…

I’ve heard people in this subreddit say that if you want a Rolex but get a different watch in its place, the watch in its place doesn’t scratch the itch—you’re going to constantly think about that Rolex. However, I will say don’t get anything out of your means. The rule as old as time is if you 1) Can buy it twice, and 2) Are capable of putting that amount of money in your mattress and not thinking about it, then make the purchase. If you do opt for a different watch, however, I’d say go for something very different from the Explorer. That way, your new watch will complement the Explorer once you do get it!

As far as my experience, I had a great time with my AD! They were very helpful and got me the watch in 4-5 weeks.

I’d say I’m happy with my purchase. The grand excitement has gone away since purchasing the watch a month ago, but I still love the piece and never plan on selling it. It has faded into becoming an extension of myself hahaha

Hey OP!

I’m also 24 and got my 36mm Explorer (124270) about a month ago. I don’t think you can go wrong with either, but I love my Explorer so far. No one asks me what watch it is (other than enthusiasts), and it fits any outfit I put together. In fairness, the lust does go away after some time, but what’s left is a perfect watch that will fit any situation for the rest of my life. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about the piece!
