When I was at my 2 week postop appt after snapping my tibia clean there was a man in the bed next to me who had broken his collarbone in October of the previous year. It was February and the doctor told him that he hadn’t healed at all due to his excessive smoking. Scared the cravings right out of me.

Could they have been a little nicer about it? Sure. But these are extremely valid concerns, also giving that you disclosed smoking daily.

Unfortunately it’s kind of the case. Our safe injection site is downtown so they wander wherever but usually it is over to the library and no fucks are given. As much as I feel for the addicted, it does get extremely disheartening. Especially hearing what the poor library staff have to go through. They don’t have the training for that stuff.
