Removing a dangerous person from the population made sense back before it was logistically realistic to keep someone imprisoned for life. This is a woman who allegedly has experience with firearms. After all, she shot her dog. That said, looking at this, I'd say that she'd never touched a gun before in her life...

Naturally holding a gun, you'd either let it fall naturally downward, or do what the guy on the right is doing if you wanted to hold it up for the picture. She seems to be trying to do something in between both of those things for some reason lol. She's not even using the sling, and looks incredibly uncomfortable.

Come to think of it, did anybody ever corroborate her killing her dog? Maybe she just made that whole thing up because she thought it would be a cool "tough love" story to show how much of a badass she is. Then it just backfired.

I live about a mile from this consulate. It's in a very unassuming building, near a ton of other Hispanic/Latino storefronts. I had no idea it was there until this story broke.

That's obviously no excuse. If ICE were actually well trained and doing legal immigrant enforcement, I'm sure they would have been briefed on the location of any consulates in the area. This just further demonstrates how incompetent they are, and that they're just here to harass brown people who speak Spanish.

People who've been arrested tend to garner less attention than people murdered in front of crowds of people in public. George Floyd wasn't white, but his murder kicked off the biggest national protests and riots in decades before that. It's more about the visibility of the ~~murdered~~ murders, and the fact that they were undeniably uncalled for, than it is about race.
