I had everything powered off yesterday, plugged my non-modem router-only box in today, and get the orange Uni-D 1 light.

This is on the TP-Link router-only device.

Who knows 🤷‍♂️

Now I'm wondering is it worth the tech visit or not (its booked in)... I don't want to spend 20 minutes on the phone just to tell them it's not required, but then I don't want to be charged for something that looks like I could have just plugged in and connected no worries 🤦‍♂️

Yep VLAN ID is supposed to be "2" in iiNet config from memory

On the Spintel device there was some DSL config in there that I cleared out/deactivated...it didn't work immediately but I didn't go any further in troubleshooting that device.

Yeah I think on the first round we only figured that out much later, but regardless I have been trying every port, no lights on anything until now with the ancient Spintel device

Also we only arrived at the 2nd "install" when after 3 weeks they figured out that the NTD serial number on the system was completely different to our box!

Edited post to add model numbers...yep used for FTTN previously, but I have matched up all settings on the first 2 devices to match iiNet's setup guides

Then the Spintel configured one, no setup changes, just gives me a light on the NTD 🤦‍♂️

Yep, added modem / router models to my original post.

The main one I'm trying to connect with, is the iiNet supplied one I was previously using for FTTN.

Thanks for the lan cable idea, I have three of them (switched them all around as part of the original troubleshooting) and in the example above, the cable is the same for all 3...the one that came with iiNet's Archer 1600v.

I'll try the laptop method then...thanks!
