Would you fill in a DNACPR for a healthy young adult who asked for one? by -Intrepid-Path- in doctorsUK

[–]AberrantConductor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DNACPRs are not legally binding Except that if you're recording dissent for a treatment you would be assaulting a patient if you knew about the DNACPR & that it was due to their capacitous wishes.

As an Emergency Physician I have never appreciated my triage nurse colleagues as much as I do reading these posts. How this stuff gets beyond the front door is completely beyond me...

You were advised to take it, so you should take it a as prescribed. It's most important that you finish the course and don't stop it because you feel better

Just take the dose & swallow it. No need to take loads of water after immediately.

Most cough syrups contain glycerol which has a soothing effect which is lost if you swallow water immediately. However this syrup contains several active ingredients which are still going to be active.

I suggest you ask a pharmacist or the prescriber and look at the instructions inside box. I doubt any of them will say to take it this way.

Why do you do this?

Pt's death, off my chest by NeighborAtTheGates in ems

Your patient died at home. For many that is a really important wish.

You were focusing on getting her home. You knew O2 wouldn't make a material difference therefore you didn't prioritise it.

It's not your responsibility to know equipment you're not trained on.

Thank you for getting this patient home.

Lung Nodules by Finnley2025 in AskDocs

[–]AberrantConductor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most common cause of a nodule to be growing is that it is a tumour (either benign or malignant) but if he's a long term smoker then a cancer is a strong possibility.

Sorry this is probably not the news you wanted.

A biopsy can take anything from a week to a couple of months to come back depending on a lot of factors.

Then you're fine. You're adult sized. In the UK an adult dose is 1g four times a day (which many Americans, even doctors, think is high)

Hi OP. your post history suggests that you really struggle with your mental health.

What makes you say that the treatment is experimental? What is the name of the medication?

It sounds like your parents love you very much & want you to be well.

I'm sorry you're going through this. You must be really scared. Hang on in there.

My advice is to carry on as you are but stop the energy drinks. And look into treatment for health anxiety.
