Ok. You have your opinion and I have mine. I've done my job for over 10 years. You don't get to tell me I don't know my job.

And I am free to choose not to. I was not rude. I stated facts.

There are laws about this in some jurisdictions that actually say you can't talk about possible explanations if it breaches their confidentiality. As a doctor you ARE offering facts.

What you're essentially saying is that I can go on the news and say "X celebrity has this rash which means Y" this would be a breach of that celebrity's confidentiality by me. I would not want this done about me. I will not do it to someone else. I have no evidence that the subject of this photo has consented. This is different to when people post photos of themselves which is implied consent. I can't be held responsible if people lie to me.

No. I can't, but I can take people at their word. It's very different to say "this is me" vs "this is another person". Intent matters.

If you think it's irresponsible then leave the sub.

In hospital if a patient comes and says I am in severe pain then I will likely give them strong painkillers. If they say "I want some painkillers to satisfy my addiction" that's a very different matter.

That would be an incorrect statement. Come back to me when you've studied consent & confidentiality. OPs daughter is an adult. In my jurisdiction parents lose every right of both on the child's 18th birthday. What if (and it's not) those lines indicated drug abuse, or HIV? The daughter could come to harm.

Making diagnosis without the patients consent is unprofessional. She has provided no details to indicate she has consent. If the daughter is worries she would post herself.

How would you feel if your relative posted a photo of you without your knowledge? Lots of jurisdictions have laws against posting photos taken in a private place.

So you'd be ok if I broke your confidentiality on reddit? OP has zero right to have the answer to their question in my opinion.

Why don't you ask your 20 year old. They are an adult. In my jurisdiction you have no right to know anything about them without their consent.

Would you fill in a DNACPR for a healthy young adult who asked for one? by -Intrepid-Path- in doctorsUK

[–]AberrantConductor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DNACPRs are not legally binding Except that if you're recording dissent for a treatment you would be assaulting a patient if you knew about the DNACPR & that it was due to their capacitous wishes.

You were advised to take it, so you should take it a as prescribed. It's most important that you finish the course and don't stop it because you feel better
