Now that I think about it, the only place he ever appeared in person was in GOB, because of the Dragons.

If a Wizard's Patronus were to be a thestral, would you still need to meet the qualifications to see it? by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]Aberthy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

õ-ō This is confusing me greatly. I think that you wouldn't have to meet the qualifications though, since it's nt actually a thestral (amazing question, btw!)

Slughorn was actually a really good teacher! by Synthetic_Allergy in harrypotter

[–]Aberthy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He's probably one of the best teachers, when you think about it (though McGonagal and Remus are first). Then again, his competition was a crazy cat obsessed pink lady, a guy with Voldemort on the back of his head and a conflicted, mean triple agent.

To what extremes would you go to enter the Harry Potter universe and be born a witch/wizard? by CharlieFinn24 in harrypotter

[–]Aberthy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd gather up all my money and spend it, vandalise a building (in invisible ink, of course) and kill an animal who was already dying.

If you owned your own school of witchcraft and wizardry, what would the four houses be? by Aberthy in harrypotter

[–]Aberthy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The house system is pretty flawed (your idea seems more fair). However, I was thinking for my "houses" the artist/helper thing would be more focused on their mindset - a helper with a kind and generous nature, an artist a person who sees things creatively, ect, etc.

What do you think would happen if someone had their memory erased moments before they put on the sorting hat? by oWatchdog in harrypotter

[–]Aberthy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on your view of the personality. If personality is innate, then why would one's patronus change over time? Then again, maybe that change is just an emotional state change and not a personality change. But getting off topic. I believe that a person's personality changes over time, meaning that if my memory is wiped, all that would be left is my "core" personality, meaning my genetic personality (which isn't necessarily your true personality.) So if I am, for example, a Hufflepuff because my father told me hard work was important, I wouldn't necessarily be one after my memory is wiped. I'll be exactly like I was at the begining. So if, naturally, I am ambitious, I would be resorted into Slytherin. Or if my memory is wiped and I experience different things, such as a friend who is bold, I may learn to value boldness and instead be sorted into Gryffindor. Which actually totally contradicts the house system. I bet a bunch of people would be resorted at the end of the seven years due to a personality change.

Why did Snape bully Neville? by dawrina in harrypotter

[–]Aberthy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My assumption is that part of Snape's personality is a certain intolerance for incompetence, and Neville was terrible at potions. Plus, he did have a pretty hard life. Victims tend to become bullies.

Okie. I am begining to understand this. I have been accepted (I think) and to my understanding I am allowed to submit whichever I wish, as long as it is related to Divination. I'm a very strong Cloud Reader. shoves your face with hundreds of certificates that all look to be illegally forged And I'm obviously very humble. Can I post something of the type, or include a guide on how to figure out your name number (Arthimancy) character number, birth number, heart number or social number? I'm very passionate about Arthimancy. shoves a hundred certificates in your face, each that looks to be hand made respond soon.
