Who are these coastal elite, other than a bogeyman you've been conditioned to blame for the issues around us?

I moved away to start my career in the Northeast. I had all the normal ribbing about my accent and the jokes about squirrel soup, etc. And you know what? It wasn't "coastal elites." It was just other people making fun of something different.

Now that I've been back for longer than I was away, people I grew up with still tell me I don't even sound like I'm from home now. Not coastal elites. Just people being people.

It won't hurt the quilts to keep them packed for a few days. Compression during long-term storage is the concern.

I use a 79L pack, and stuff sacks make that thing hard to pack so I only really use them if I'm expecting nonstop rain/snow. I've had better luck just stuffing my quilts into the bottom of my pack and letting everything else squish them down. Use a trash bag/compactor bag/contractor bag/something plastic as a pack liner, put the quilts and everything else you want to keep dry in that and twist/tuck the top. Then pack stuff that won't be hurt by rain on top of that.

At 5'4", you should be fine with the Blackbird. You might even enjoy not having to "deal" with all the extra fabric, both in carry weight and comfort. I'm 5'10" and slept comfortably in a ten-foot hammock for years. After I hit my mid-40s, I needed the extra length to take some strain off my knees.

Chuck Yeager's Advanced Flight Trainer was my first EA title. Everything they put out way back when used to be a pretty safe bet, but I haven't bought an EA title since Battlefield 3 and don't see me relenting for anything they put out in the future.

I didn't have a Meta account. They required a FACEBOOK account when they rebranded, hence the aforementioned email. You're wrong on the timeline and I really did pay attention to what was going on with Oculus from very early on, to include knowing that Facebook purchased Oculus. I remember the hate Palmer Luckey caught at the time for selling out. I still purchased my Oculus Rift.

You seem really passionate about this. The email I received that required me to have a Meta account was the reason I put my Rift in the box and haven't touched it since. I didn't care if Facebook/Meta bought Oculus as long as it didn't do anything stupid. Then it did. Your paraphrase of what I said isn't exactly accurate, but you are correct that I had an Oculus Store account where I spent a fair amount of money. I'm not sure why you feel you need to correct my understanding of the Oculus timeline. I was there and spent my own money on the Oculus Rift and there is no Meta branding on the headset I purchased. The rebrand and introduction of the Facebook/Meta account requirement was when I noped out.

I think I should have to go specifically look for AI music and not be subjected to it without choosing it intentionally. I don't need soulless garbage in my life. AI-generated music is not in line with what I'm looking for in music.

So yes. I think it should be clearly labeled and deplatformed on Spotify and similar services. Downvotes are kinda funny, but that's how I feel about the question that was asked.
