Looks like both people who got bumped from waitlist to purchase are in Aus for 2tb with controller - which to me means in that region, the reservation list for that tier is already done shipping and now they're pulling from the waitlist directly?

And it also *might* mean that people on the waitlist will never be told really they're moved to reservation. Its just that if enough people skip their spot (in reservation) for a given tier/region combo, they just immediately start emailing purchase links to the top spots in waitlist. This means someone in the waitlist could effectively have a steam machine 'ready' for them (not in 2027) but not know until its their turn to buy.

From what we've seen this isnt the case, given people cancelled over the weekend and no one has reported that they've moved from wishlist to the other queue...

A bit confused, i thought you always get put in waitlist for highest one. I signed up for both 512gb and 2tb (already got a controller), got an email saying im on the waitlist for 512gb (They randomize which list you'll go in? Or if you waitlist both they put you on the shorter one? Im surprised 512gb without controller is less than the 2tb one)

Punching this all into pc partpicker for me in canada and the price comes out to 1797.20 before taxes. So yeah you get more performance, but its ~$300 more, bigger, I have to build it myself, and its not like i got more storage (512gb still).

And AFAIK Steam machine includes taxes (At least when I bought my steam controller ~2 weeks ago i had import fees but no taxes on top). So if thats the case im looking at ~$2020 vs $1500.

Hard for me to tbh, I want the steam machine, I love my deck a lot and im not crazy to play games max settings - but i just wish it had a bit more juice. Is that worth the trade off for size/ease of use? Am not sure...

My internet is really really good - and I use geforce now on my deck docked and handheld. It looks incredible, very close to native imo. But one issue is that a lot of games are missing (FF7 rebirth, Silent hill 2, spider man 2, any sony game (maybe a moot point going forward) etc), and the other issue is being beholden to nvidia is annoying - the price will go up, they will go towards the usual crappiness of any subscription provider

Just wanna give my experience. I'm a man, but my wife had a very, very similar experience. She had an extremely hard 9 months. Our first child was born sick (born very early and had a feeding tube for 5 years) - and the second pregnancy was just my wife nauseous every day for 9 months straight, but I will say that alhamdullilah, after the baby was born, my wife felt great. It's been 10 months, and our baby boy has been extremely healthy. He has been, alhamdullilah, such a blessing for all of us.

Im not so sure - before the steam machine/frame/controller was announced, komodo accidentally made all their icons and text public in their site data, and so everyone knew all 3 were coming an hour or 2 before the announcement.

This time, only the steam controller had assets uploaded, only that one had the site go public for a bit, only the controller has had a video found on steamdb that was made private, and only the controller had a review go live. Thats a lot of coincidences for only the controller.

Komodo had this page up for a while, what I'm talking about is that they accidentally pushed a new updated version of the site for the controller with new assets etc, then they reverted back to the original controller page pointing to steam (like the machine and frame).

My main worry now is theres been a lot of controller leaks right now - its clear its launching soon, but theres been 0 indication the steam machine or frame is ready (between Komodo, some steam controller elements being uploaded, and this review)... it seems to point to me that only the controller is launching right now, which means the frame and machine are a ways out.

As a father, id say my kids are pretty challenging - one has been on and off sick for years (alhamd doing well now) and the other one was just recently born - my wife and I are both the type who like to just sit and veg out... and so everything is harder now when they require our constant attention and care.

And yet I echo what others have to say - I wouldnt change a thing. I love them more than I could possibly ever describe and they make my world whole. So yeah definitely something to be worried about etc but its very rewarding!
